Ladies, I am in need of your creative ideas... please...

We are doing hand written thank you notes in our hotel welcome baskets. I don't want to use the same phrase on each one, because many of the guests know eachother, and I don't want it to look generic. I'm trying to think of 4 or 5 phrases I could use.

I know it is a cliche to ask you all for help, so that they seem more personal, but I've been trying to come up with some for over 2 weeks, and they all sound exactly the same.

FYI: These are "Thank you for traveling to be here. We are excited that to be sharing this very special weekend with you! Love, M & C" notes, not a thank you after the fact.

Thank you in advance for any and all of your help!!

Ooh that''s tough! What about "We hope you enjoy this/these (whatever you''re putting in the basket) as much as we''ve enjoyed having you here to celebrate with us!"

Kinda cheesy, but maybe it''ll give you a jumping off point?

Thanks sunny. Definitely a good jumping off point. I think my problem is that I am/was stuck on starting the letter with "Thank you...". I like your idea of starting with "We hope...". That opens up quite a few other possibilities.

Maybe start the note with the traditional Thank you for coming and celebrating our special day with us and then follow it with...now that you are here get ready for some (dancing, fun, good times, etc)!

or maybe you can incorporate a funny/cute pic of you and FI with the person/people on the thank you note. Not sure how many welcome bags you have and how complicated that would be.

How about these? I''m sure I can think of some more...but this is a start

"We''re so grateful you were able to travel to help celebrate our wedding. Please enjoy this welcome basket as a small token of our appreciation"

"Your presense at our wedding means the world to us, thank you for making the journey to help us celebrate"

"We''re so thankful for our wonderful friends and family, please enjoy this basket of goodies (or whatever you put in it) we look forward to seeing you soon!"

"We appreciate your family''s willingness to travel to be here with us on such an important day for us!"

"We are so glad you made the trip for our wedding! We hope it will be as memorable for you as it will be for us!"

How many do you have Mere? We have a lot, but your handwriting idea is great. I don''t think I could do it, so more power to you!

I''m just now starting to put together our OOT boxes. What are you putting in yours?

Thanks you all so much!! Funny, who have thought there would be a creativity block after planning a wedding for a year.

Keep em' coming!!

Lanie: My mom refuses to do more than 35. We are only doing one per invitation or if people are sharing a room, then one per room.
We are doing crackers/pretzels, monogrammed candies, bottled water, maps of the downtown area, and a pamphlet my mo is printing that has all of our contact info (FIL's #'s, my parents #'s, C and my #'s, #'s for each of the venues, and the transportation guy's #), a list of all the restaurants in the downtown area (one of each genre that is our favorite

), and the thank you card.

As far as hand-writing the thank you cards, C is writing the ones for his side of the family and friends, and I am writing them for mine. I think it will add a nice personal touch, *especially* the ones that he writes. He wasn't real thrilled at first b/c he doesn't have good handwriting, but I told him it wouldn't be the same if I wrote all of them, and his family would really appreciate it.

I forgot to ask... Lanie, what are you all putting in yours?

I don''t have suggestions, that would be really, REALLY hard! I hope you have fun writing them out and it doesn''t become too tedious!

What about saying something like

"We're so excited you're here! Thank you so much for traveling to celebrate with us, we can't wait! Enjoy the goodies and see you soon! Hugs, Meresal & FI"

You could also include a little blip that pretains to them.

ETA: I would not include your number, or C's. While it's a sweet gesture, the fact is, you're going to be busy--and want your privacy. I would hope no one would call you...but on the chance someone might, it's not something you should have to deal with. Leaving your parents number and other contact numbers is more than enough.

We''re honored by the present of your presence on our special day. Here''s some goodies for you and we hope you enjoy your stay!

sorry i couldn''t help the rhyme

How about....

"Dear (fill in the blank),

The wait is finally over! Welcome to (fill in the blank)!

We are so happy to be able to share this special moment in our lives with all of you. We are especially honoured that you have traveled this far to be a part of our marriage celebration.

Please make the most of your stay here in (fill in the blank). We hope that the next few days will be as memorable for you as they will be for us.

With Love and Appreciation,

M & C"

You all are great, thank you for the help!

Italia, in hind sight it would have probably been better not to put our names and numbers, however, FMIL and FFIL have a tendency to not answer thier phones when they "don''t feel like it", and I would hate for any of C''s family to feel lost.
However, we are providing each person with absolutely anything they could possibly need for the whole weekend, so I''ll be surprised if my phone even rings. If it does, I imagine my MOH will be the first one to reach for it though, either her or one of my 3 sisters or my mom

I''m putting in a lot of the same things...the box will have crackers, hand sanitizer (on sale at Bath and Body!), mini bottled water...and I don''t know what else. Maybe homeade cookies if I have time? I''m also giving everyone a bottle of wine. I''ve been collecting cheapish bottles since May so I didn''t have a mad rush to Specs like a lush! We are doing a little thing inside of restaurants too! And bars to go to during that dreaded 2 hour break. I like the idea of phone numbers....might have to add that in there...
