Oh I am so excited!
So my FI and I have been engaged since November--but I have been so deeply engrossed in grad school and working full time (I''m a teacher and trying to get my MAT) that we haven''t really gone wedding full-steam ahead. Then there was the issue (for me) of no longer having my mother around to help me plan (she passed away a while ago.) Things just weren''t moving.
Well, I posted before that we''ve decided to plan a destination wedding in the US Virgin Islands in honor of my mother. My family used to travel to visit my uncle in St. Croix, and we''d always spend time in St. John. It was my mother''s favorite place in the world, and one of the places that she visited right before she died of colon cancer. I feel like she''ll be there with us.
So, here''s the good news! We just bought tickets and made reservations with wedding planners at two resorts down there.
We''re going in a couple of weeks! I''m just so excited that we might finally get the show on the road! Oh, our tentative date is July 17, 2006, it''s a Monday, but who cares what day it is when you are in the islands, right?
I''ve been reading up on everyone''s wedding plans, and am just so happy that soon I''ll be able to share plans of my own
