WF 6 Prong Solitaire Opinions

I'm looking at 6 prong white gold solitaire settings at WF. My original idea was to get a setting with a peg style head that could be replaced when I upgrade. I've been quoted around $300ish to change out the head depending on the current market, so let's say $300-$400 to be safe. The suggested peg head settings are WF brand and $950 in 18k white gold. I like the Contemporary style best.

I've also noticed the Valoria Petite setting. Looking through some past threads, it looks very nice and people seem happy with the quality. It's $450 in 14k. The gold content doesn't really matter to me as I'm considering this a temporary setting (although for years).

I realize there are style differences between the two, but assuming I would be happy with either style (and gold content) is there any reason not to go with the Valoria? Seems to me that I could buy three total Valoria settings for around what it would cost to do one upgrade in the WF setting. Are there any things that I am not considering? If anyone has opinions on either of these I would appreciate it!

The Valoria has the head set so low that any wedding band is probably going to rub against the base of the prongs. So if you want to use it as a temporary setting until you upgrade, I think that's fine. I wouldn't want it as a long term setting because of that issue. Plus, it has a really thin shank at 1.9mm.

I like the contemporary solitaire a little more, but it doesn't have much of a doughnut under it's head, either, so you could still have rubbing issues. But I do think it would be a longer lasting setting especially if you really want to replace the head.

Thanks for your feedback! I think that I may need to go to a local store and try on a few solitaire settings. I have really long fingers and I'm used to my old setting which was almost as wide as my 7mm stone, so maybe at least 5mm wide. I really want the stone to pop but I think it will take some getting used to for either of these thin settings.
