What’s your opinion on hidden halos?

Never been a halo girl myself, but it seems that hidden halos are all the rage these days…what are your thoughts on them? Had a brief moment where I considered one for my round solitaire, but I feel they look better on elongated shapes.

Not a fan, I prefer my halos loud and proud and visible. Also I keep fearing that a hidden halo is a recipe for disaster when wearing a wedding band alongside.

They make for a great profile view. I enjoyed admiring one from afar recently. It looked sexy bc the head seemed to be perched above the ring.

I'm a fan. I really like when there's something extra on a side profile and I think they can be a fun addition to a ring. I was really insistent on having a hidden halo feature with my ring and I don't regret it at all - I get a lot of joy admiring my side profile throughout the day! I did do mine a little differently than many I see. I had our jeweler do mine in more of a channel so I wouldn't have to worry about my stones eating into a wedding band like others mentioned above.

Do you mean on the basket or on the base of the prongs? I love the ones on the basket when done well.

MMhm, I like the basket style like @Kim N showed above, in theory. Very pretty. I'm clumsy, a bit forgetful and I don't baby my rings. It really depends on your wear pattern and how you are with your hands. How practical do you need to be for your daily life?
The haloes at the base of a ring basket or on the outside of the prongs, no chance. Pave, unless bead or channel set under the prong, would be a true gamble. I would positively destroy these rings over time and probably pop off the basket, entire, if I had one(with the possible exception of a last cathedral style) for sure.

No offense to anyone that has one but I don’t get it and don’t care for it and think it’s a distraction and unnecessary. Sorry to be so negative on them. I’m sure many things I like are not palatable to others. If you like them then go for it and enjoy. And, honestly, if you are on this forum in all likelihood you will be changing out your mounting at some point lol so if you tire of it you can do something else lol!

I see this as a beautiful basket feature not a “halo” I dig it.

Not my style as they seem pointless to me. Note I said to ME. Also would worry about chewing up the surrounding bands.
