Hello!
Another quick purchase by me
I bought this ring
3 ct natural sapphire. Diamond halo
I’m assuming heated, no paperwork
When I received it and put it on
I instantly loved it! I know it’s darker than the preferred colors, but I’m a gal on a bling budget who also needs decent finger coverage. And I have to take certain trade offs most the time
I wasn’t even aware I was a halo gal, but I guess I am
so again the little diamonds aren’t usually my style, but I just really love the whole Look here. I feel it’s a spin on Diana’s ring
*however* in natural light when the stone color looks best, I also noticed these lines At first I thought they were smudges, then scratches, and then I realized they were inclusions.
I did not notice these on the sale photos
And I know I’m going to have to live with it. My biggest worry is that *others* might think it’s an old scratched up ring, I don’t know. Small inclusions don’t usually bother me, but I’ve never seen any like this. Im including a few photos to show its beauty ( to me) as well as trying to capture the ( not so beautiful) lines

Again I know this isn’t pd worthy ( I’m a pd loser lol) just wondering what these inclusions are called. I did try to Google etc. not sure if they are feathers?

So difficult to tell by looking at photos. But I'm not sure if I'm seeing color zoning (bands) or inclusions. If they are in fact inclusions, they look like growth plane fissures or feathers. There's also a chance we're seeing some silk, but it looks a little too prominent to be rutile. Pretty ring!

Thank you for looking. I’m having such a hard time getting decent pics!!

I think it's just silk. Yes, a hint of silk will give it glow and a lot will give it the cloudy look when the light hits it just right. Even more silk and it will be translucent

This looks like a thin film of oil or dirt

This is classic 120 degree hexagonal color banding or growth line/planes. It is possible the sapphire has not been heat treaded when these grain lines are as prominent. They are a nice to have feature that indicate natural origin.

I think your ring is beautiful! And the colour is nice actually, not that overly dark to my eyes. I would tell you to love those inclusions since they are the marks of a natural stone. One of the reasons I can’t really get into simulants is because how clean they look!

Thank you all for letting me obsess! Lol
I’ve done my best to clean it up and take better pics
I do love the ring which is a surprise as I never desired a pear of any kind nor a tiny diamond halo lol When I Google this style ( after I bought it) I see you can get a knock off of this style for like $60 so then I was worried this looked “cheap”. But I guess we can get knock offs of all things anyway Ok I’m rambling

So when the light is shining and the stone looks it’s brightest is when you can see these lines the most. They are almost like little glow sticks inside of there. The one I have circled is the most noticeable to the naked eye (closest to the surface) and I guess I was afraid others might think it looks like a scratch , since that’s what I initially thought it was! (Scratch=cheap stone)

Here’s more pics if you’re bored like me lol

It's a gorgeous sapphire! You did well. Those are natural inclusions, as everyone else already said and to me they are minor ones at that. It's a silky, glowy, perfect royal blue sapphire in my opinion. Congrats on your ring!

The silk also helps the stone have a blue on blue appearance. Google Kashmir sapphire.
The cream of the cream!

Thank you all again so much for making me feel better about this!
Part of my insecurity was because just 2 days prior to this purchase I had bought *another* sapphire halo! The problem is shortly after I bought it I realized the halo was made from white sapphires NOT diamonds ( my fault for not paying attention!) the vendor had been listed and selling a few of these rings and I kept missing out so when I saw this cushion available I bought it! ( and ASSumed it was like the others)

Soooo then I messaged asking if they had any with diamonds coming up and I was offered the pear ( no cert etc)

Once I got them I was worried that I now had two similar rings one that I liked the stone but not the sapphire halo and the other I liked the halo but was worried about the stone!

Anyway. Soon I will start a new thread asking what I should do with my cushion.
Reset, make a pendant, or I don’t know what. Lol

Ahh I wanted to update on the cushion instead of starting a new thread. I bought this bright blue sapphire from Alex Park. I jumped the gun so fast I didn’t realize the halo was made from with white sapphires!

Well here it is now, can you believe Alex was nice enough to let me send the ring back and he replaced all the sapphires with diamonds!? For a fee of course, but much less than having to start all over with a new setting. Not even my local jeweler would have taken that job on! I think the turn around time was about 2 weeks!
I need to get better pics lol
