So i''m planning on a September wedding with these sort of colours for flowers. What color would you recommend for the BM dresses?

I was thinking of a taupe, mocha, coffee color??

A cinnamon color could be pretty too, depending on the girl''s coloring. If it had a ribbon you could bring in one of the paler colors in the bouquet.

Copper, bronze or champagne or a crimson a deep red, not a corvette red or a burgundy. Brown would be fabulous too.

I also love brown but worry it might be overdone. It is one of my favorites. I think you have so many options with those colors and the time of year!

I love that bouquet whms!!!

I have been looking and trying to figure out dresses, too, and I have seen some lovely rust, cinnamon, champagne and bronze beauties. I would love to choose something to go with bright colors like yours, but I have a blonde, a brunette and a very, very RED redhead, so I think some of those are out for me, or she might very well end up looking like a big carrot! (She should have been so thoughtful when choosing HER colors all those years ago...ahhh, think of the payback possibilities! Hee hee hee!)

Back to your question...I think anything with Fall colors will be absolutely beautiful...you could easily do brown dresses with an accent sash, or even dark green or navy blue to allow your flowers to be the showpieces. I don''t think you can go wrong with beauties like those flowers, to be honest with you!

a deep red would be gorgeous, and really let the flowers "pop" rather than blend in or match.
also it''s a flattering color on a lot of people

I totally agree! I think any of these colors could be great with crimson or chocolate brown being my favorites.

I also love the brown and deep red ideas. But just to be different I also think a nice sage/medium green color dress would make the orange flowers pop a lot too.

Navy Blue

I would go with sunset orange. The colours in that bouquet are very pretty and would make a beautiful colour scheme.

i had very similar colors for my oct. wedding and went with a green color for my wedding. the pics were gorgeous. i think mocha would also work well. those colors will make the bouquets really pop.

I think a palette of all those colors would be lovely, depending on each BMs taste and what color looks best on her. Burnt orange, sienna red, cinnamon, mocha, browns...if each BM wore a different color in that palette range it would look lovely and the floral bouquets would tie them together and it would be obvious they were all matching a color palette as opposed to one color, which to me looks to matchy matchy.

HI:

I was thinking taupe myself--but of course there a seemingly endless number of shades of taupe.......

cheers--Sharon

I think Cinnamon or copper would look great. A champagne color would really make the flowers stand out.

wow, thank you very very much for all your suggestions!!! There are some great ideas! The deep red sounds wonderful as all three of my BM''s are asian with pale skin and dark black hair..but the green and navy sounds soo pretty too!! (however, being asian, i think the navy blue is out - olden days, navy blue & white were the colors of death) ugh!! hm...decisions decisions!! eeek!!

Oh surfgirl!! that''s a wonderful idea!!!!!!!

My MOH''s bouquet will look exactly like that!! This is the dress she''s wearing.

LOL...that''s the same dress I wore in Chocolate at my friend''s wedding in September last year...very pretty!

I think either a deep red or even a shade of green.. I think green would be a great BM dress color if you want the flowers to pop!

I think you have lots of options, but navy blue makes no sense to me in the fall scheme you have going. I would focus on neutrals and earth tones...and each one in a different but harmonious shade is great too...maybe graduating from deepest to palest...paprika to pumpkin or something, or deeper green to sage...you could also do ivory with a cinnamon ribbon or something, have the MOH in a color like the cinnamon with an ivory ribbon...

Love the colours that JCrew have out the mulled wine or the holiday red and even the alpine green all colours that will suit asian skin. What do you think?

ooh! that is a pretty red!!! thank you! that does give me many options!! I love the idea of each bridesmaid wearing a different colour!!!

I had a VERY similar bouquet for my September wedding in 2003. The BM''s dresses were champagne colored with beading on the v-neck of the bodice. They were beautiful. The groomsmen and the groom all wore champagne tuxes as well, and their vests were embroidered with a cinnamon colored tiny floral pattern, and the boutennieres were cinnamon mini callas with hypernicum berries and greenery, it all went really well together. My Jr. BM''s carried these gorgeous James Story orchids which were also russet/cinnamon colored and very airy (we had an outdoor ceremony by a lake under a grove of fruit trees). So where I had very neutral colors for the wedding party''s attire, I used colorful flowers to add visual excitement with bouquets, bouts, etc. I loved it, and my photographs ended up turning out very antique-y and vintage looking, they were just beautiful. Sorry, I would post some but none of my wedding pics were on digital and scanning and uploading and then resizing takes sort of forever, LOL!
