I got Mr. H some cologne, a CD, new earphones for his mp3 player, 2 books from his list, a DVD boxset of ''Two and a Half Men''), and a sock monkey (my most used nickname for him is ''Monkey'') that I made a special Christmas card to go with. Nothing too extravagant, but funds were tight, this year.
i got him a lot of dress shirts that look strikingly similar to the ones i got him last year because his chest grew
and i thought the growing out of clothes in a year business was supposed to stop in high school. i also got him a nice dressy coat, some dvds, and some cologne. i might get him some more stocking stuffers
I got him a digital camera that he asked for. I also love doing stockings, so I got him a bunch of little things. I got him a few different gift cards to iTunes, Dunkin'' Donuts, and Mobile Gas. I got him a box of golf balls. A photo frame oradment, book mark, candle, chapstick, card game, gum, candy and chocolate, a stratch off lottery ticket, and I can''t remember what else. I usually enjoy doing one big gifts and a lot of little gifts.
I have no idea what he may be getting me. I know that it is not what I really want of course (a ring and a proposal.)
BF and I often go a little overbord with the prezzy buying and as money is tight at the moment, I emposed a $20 limit to christmas gifts to each other. It''s BFs first Christmas in NZ (and first away from his family in the UK) so I used $9.50 of the budget to buy some fabric and bits and spent a day sewing/making him a really beautiful Christmas stocking (I''m kind of jelous and will have to make myself one next year). For the rest of the money I got bits a pices to put in, chocolates he can eat (he''s lactose intolerant), some english candy and chips he likes, cola etc. So today, to finnish off his gift I''m going to spend the day baking lots of yum things (ginger bread men, choc chip rock cakes, chocolate fudge and some chocolate covered almonds) which I will wrap up in cello-wrap, put in little boxes, tie up with ribbon etc to put in his stocking. I am also adding a voucher for a 20min head massage from me and other stuff like that.
And there you have it, a prezzy for $19.93! I''m kind of proud of it actually.
Let''s see, I got him a North Face coat because he doesn''t own a casual winter coat, a shower curtain for his newly painted bathroom, a new wallet to replace his severely worn one (but I have a feeling he''s going to resist getting rid of the old one!), and a few long sleeved casual shirts, so he will quit wearing his short sleeved ones in the winter. Brr It''s all practical stuff, but he is hard to buy for. I know he''ll think I did too much.
Yeah, I totally blew our agreed upon price cap. He''s getting a new gym bag, three new shirts, a Columbia fleece pullover, an awesome set of binoculars, a cast iron skillet, a Presto deep fryer, a new electric razor, and a stocking full of random dollar store stuff.
I agree with a price cap, but tend to go overboard....for Christmas this year, i was able to get him more stuff for once since i made okay money for once
So this year, i bought him his favorite cologne...he is running low and its pricey, than i bought him house shoes, his feet are always cold. Than i bought him a PS2(used) and i bought him a wireless guitar for guitar hero, and two guitar heros, the 80''s encore and the new van halen, which comes out in a day. He has been talking about getting a guitar hero since we have been together, so i firgured he would never buy it for himself, so i went ahead and spent the money and bought it for him.
I tend to go a bit overboard, for the holidays like this past weekend we had a dinner party, 12 people, and i bought gifts for everyone and most people had 2 gifts to open. I bought my mom a Wii and some jewerly.....i just cant help myself. i tend to give more to everyone when i get the chance, it makes me feel good. The only issue with the SO , is getting him to open the gifts. He still has gifts that need to be opened from last year
I got him a Fossil watch, as he''s never had a nice watch, and I think that''s a good place to start, as well as a book about his favorite band, and I made him a scarf to go with his new winter jacket. Nothing too crazy, but I do need to find one more little thing for him to open at my family''s christmas, since I gave him is presents for Hanukkah. I''ll probably just pick up a shirt or a little something.
Ugh...was trying to get to Gamestop today to get the fishing game, but wound up getting him three really nice dress shirts, three Goffrey Beene ties, a set of dress socks and a dress belt instead. He needed dress clothes to go with the suit he just bought, and he''s colorblind. Not that he can''t coordinate things (because for a colorblind guy he really does well!), but I know he wouldn''t have picked out what I did and I think he''s going to look hot in what I picked!
He got kinda spoiled this year: Ray Ban sunglasses, 4 PS3 Games, Seasons 1-3 and Christmas DVD''s of Always Sunny in Philadelphia, 3 DVD Movies, bunch of small stocking stuffer stuff, some car posters, couple pairs of jeans, workout clothes, dress shoes, 3 books, HID headlights for his car, .. I think thats all... oh yeah, and gave him $600 to go towards the patio set that he is buying for us.
We also agreed on a price cap. He''s getting a Dewalt drill & drill bit set, a sweater and a top, some stand-up DVDs, as well as some stocking stuffers like Andes mints and Reese''s peanut butter cups.
