Is it more bling to wear one ring with a big stone or a medium sized rock with one or two eternity bands?

I think it''s more blingy to wear one big stone than several smaller bands. However, if you use two 5ct eternity bands, well that could be another story!!

I think according to rap star jewelry, superbowl rings, and other massive pieces of pave covered jewelry, "blingy" means the biggest piece of jewelry you can get with the most amount of diamonds. I think quantity rules over quality in that case.

As for me...I think it just depends on the diamonds. If I see a huge solitaire thats shooting fire off at every angle or smaller stone that''s got a halo and paired with eternity bands, I''d probably consider them equally blingy. So I don''t choose one over the other.

the big rock!

but I''m curious: why are you asking?

Is blingy a positive or a negative here? ''Cause, the way it works in my head, it kind of translates to "deliberately shiny" or "going for an eye-catching effect" ... if I''m reading it right, then I''d say the eternity-combo would be more blingy. But I guess it also depends on how you define "big rock" vs. "medium rock": if the big rock is, say, 10 ct., that would definitely qualify!

... cause I can''t decide. Have a .92 princess cut with .48 channel set diamonds on platinum setting currently. Want to upgrade but I''m thinking maybe I don''t necessarily neeeed a 2 carat stone. I have been eyeing some eternity bands (half way around and all the way).

so you have to decide between
- getting a 2ct stone
- or getting one of the bands?

then I would definitely take the 2ct stone!!! (you can get some nice bands later

) TAKE THE BIG ROCK, LADY!!!!!

I agree with MsDreamy. Bands are something you can get at anniversaries, Christmas, etc. That''s why I don''t think they are particularly "blingy". Just like in your wardrobe, you need your basic LBD, then you add your accessories.

Fun optoins, but I''d definitely go for the larger stone. Smaller stone surrounded by a lot of bling get lost, you know? I think a great stone should take center stage :)

Big stones are blingy.. I like blingy..

Yep, and I love big stones!

I tend to consider more finger coverage as more blingy. So depending on the bands, the smaller stone with two eternity bands would wow me more than a single solitaire (unless it is crazy big, or super blindingly sparkly). I have a ring that covers a lot of my finger, and I didn''t realize how big it was until I met someone with the same carat weight that I had in her wedding set that was a pave halo with matching band. Suddenly mine looked humongous. Not that I minded

Definitely more blingy to have a bunch of bling rather than one big stone! I''d say if you had one big stone you''re ICED out whereas with lots and lots of diamonds you''re blinged out. LOL. And if you have both, you''re BLESSED.

You''re "iced"..that''s a good way of putting it, I like that! lol

2 carat stone is more blingy even in a solitare than a 1 carat ish in a diamond setting. We have both of those here at the office. One lady has a 1 carat princess is a princess cut channel set eternity with matching band, another lady has a 2 carat princess solitare with a plan metal band and I promise you the 2 carat gets 20X the attention. It''s a really lovely princess too and the setting is nice (though just a solitare) so that helps.

i''ve got a 1ct princess in a halo setting with stones down the sides paired with a (thin, albeit) eternity band..... in the right light it can have a very blingy effect..... and i would take the 2ct princess in a solitaire setting with a plain band any day!!!!

(and as others have quite rightly pointed out, no harm in asking for diamond bands down the road.....).
