Do expect the DJ to come to the wedding with his own time line of how things should go? Or are you going to give him a detailed outline of how you want things to go?
Also, do you expect the DJ to entertain you(i.e. games and chatting while he''s playing music)?
Oh and do you prefer the DJ to talk to someone else the day of so that he doesn''t bother you while you''re enjoying your day?

I ask because BF is going to DJ another wedding this summer. Somewhere he got a comment that someone(not anyone he DJ''d for) wished that the DJ would have had them play more games. I''ve never heard of playing games at a wedding, but BF is now brainstorming game ideas.

We''ll be giving him a detailed outline of how we want things to go, however, this outline will incorporate elements that we want based on discussion with both him and our planner.
We do expect the DJ to entertain as he will also be our emcee.
We expect that he will hit the perfect balance when it comes to chatting & "games" though ... don''t want him too chatty or cheesy because, after all, it''s not the circus, right? We still, most of all want people enjoying themselves and dancing all night and having a great time.
We have already discussed that if he has any issues, he will be talking to our planner or another person appointed from our wedding party

Our DJ gave us a great book about how to plan a great reception. It has a lot of ideas that are not cheesy and quite well thought out to assist with maintaining the vibe all night and keeping guests engaged but not taxed or overdosed on activities. I forget the name ... I will post for you if I can find it.

To be honest...I know NOTHING of my timeline...I''m hoping the DJ will know when, what, and how! LOL! I told him what I wanted done...and I''m going to find out when he announses it!

But I''m very much a "go with the flow" type person, lol. I just want to relax and have a great time!
