What do you think about these pearls for earrings?

Thinking of buying a pair from General pearl ... It seems like they have small blemish om the backside but luster is super strong.

I'm torn between takahshi and this vendor. The price is about the same but slightly lower on general pearl since takahashi did more than doubled the price compared to last year:[ (I have purchased from takahahi last year!)

This particular pair seems to have better luster more than their regular 100 Teri rating ones, but has very small blemish on the back, so the price is not supearl price. Any input would be great. Thanks

@lovedogs and @Boom have had good experiences buying from General Pearl, and I fully trust both their opinions and feedback. I've also personally had great conversations with them (no purchases though).

How picky are you wrt matching? The contrastiness is slightly different - visible in all pics and the video. Slightly - this is not a significant mismatch by any means. Whether or not you're okay with it depends on you.

Also possible you didn't even see it - in which case perhaps forgetting that I responded is your happy path forward

For me if I were buying earrings, the blemish on tje back wouldn't bother me because the earring post could go there and I'd never see it. But of course your comfort level may vary in terms of blemishes

Hehe, thank you for posting new pearls for us to ogle over! I'm a pearl newbie so chiming in just for fun.

Like @yssie, I see a slight mismatch in lustre/contrast between the two pearls. The pearl on the right at the beginning of the video and closer to the palm later in the video has slightly better lustre than the other.

However, in my humble opinion, the mismatch is not bad enough to constitute a deal breaker. With pearls, you're never going to get an identical match so I apply the same philosophy that Whiteflash once told me regarding bow-ties in oval diamonds — if the first thing you see if the bow-tie and not the beauty of the diamond, the bow-tie is too prominent. With this pair, my first impression was not of the slight mismatch, but rather of how lustrous and beautiful the pearls are!

I personally would not be bothered in the slightest by a small blemish in the back which would not be seen when worn. I would actually prefer it, to save a bit of money!
