Hi everyone, a while back I posted about creative ceremony song ideas because I didn''t want to do everything super traditional. After thinking about it for a while I went for a blend of traditional/creative.

Here''s what I ended up with (all of them will be played by an organist):
Prelude: Air on the G string-Bach
Processional: All you need is love-The Beatles
Recessional: Halleluah chorus

What do you think? Will this satisfy the elderly relatives who still want something semi-traditional while also satisfying my hippie parents and my non-traditional self/fiance? I am really excited to walk down to a beatles song. It actually sounds really cool on an organ and is still pretty recognizable.

Sounds great.

Good choices. Wow only a couple more weeks for you KC.

Great choices!

I used to sing in choirs so have been to more than a few musically themed weddings. For one wedding (between two bassoonists, one of whom was also in my choir) the MOB asked singers to join in a personalized version of the Halleluja Chorus. The words I remember were: Tom and Laurie, Tom and Laurie, Halleluja! The bride was in her 30''s, which may have had something to do with the choice of the Halleluja Chorus...

Another was between two members of a choir, both in their 50''s when they married. Our very talented accompanist arranged a wonderful, "classical" version of "When I''m 64" that she played on the organ as the recessional.

Both choices were memorable!

Love your choices!!!

I love "when I''m 64"! We thought about doing that song, but fi really wanted the beatles in. Those must have been very fun weddings!!!

Glad you like them girls, thanks for the reassurance!

great mix of songs!

although i used mostly traditional selections for the prelude, my walk down the aisle & recessional, we threw in a "nowhere near traditional song" during the ceremony. a guitarist friend was accompanied by another friend who sang "grow old with you" by adam sandler (from the wedding singer movie)

I love it all! Yay
