bluebirrrd said:Treenbean: Yes, I like the ones with lots of schiller too, and that's what I normally imagine when I think of sunstone. The best examples I've found of those are cabochons, not faceted stones. There seems to be lots of variation though. I've seen green sunstones and don't care for them, but I don't think I've seen multicolored before. Do you have any pictures you could post?
TL: No, it's not very saturated. Sickly yellow is not what I'm going for though! I e-mailed the seller to ask about the color. It looks a little peachy to me in the picture.
tourmaline_lover said:Not crazy about the color. Sunstone should be a nice orange or reddish orange color. That looks like washed out sickly yellow. The cutting is nice though.
I posted pictures of my Oregon sunstone jewelry here.bluebirrrd said:Well, it's nice to learn more about a stone I've always liked. Flygirl, those are so beautiful! Thanks for the link. I'd still like to see anyone's pieces if they're out there.

The color is pale and subtle but it was cut by a master faceter and has a sweetness about it that I like. It isn't very expensive and I put it on free layaway, which will make it seem even less so. Eventually I'd like to have a few different sunstones with and without schiller, representing the range of colors they come in. The red and green ones don't have much appeal for me, but I really like the peachy and orange shades. Thanks for all your feedback
