What happened to Brian Gavin hearts and arrows cushion cut diamond?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know what happened to the Brain Gavin H&A cushion cut line? They haven't had any for years (pre-covid). I have reached out and they just refer me to their select line.

I know GOG used to carry the Brellia cushion style which they stopped carrying years ago as well.

I love this style. Does anyone know what happened, does anyone have a recommendation to a similar signature cushion cut/company?

Hi thanks for responding. The "select" line is just crushed ice cushions they don't have that signature H&A cut (i asked). I have been in contact with them so many times and they don't give a really clear explanation why they no longer carry them. Unfortunately I am in love with this style.. we have been delaying our engagement years because we haven't been able to find a H&A cushion cut diamond. I asked them if they knew of another company but they didn't respond. As a last resort I thought I'd reach out to this community because this is where I first learned about the signature H&A cushion cut line
 
Yah they have been there awhile... there's only a few remaining. I have been looking for a little larger diamond to have as a solitaire. I've seen the prettiest cushion solitaires one here. We asked BG if they could custom cut one (they advertise custom cut diamond services on their site) but they said that's the one diamond they can't. They are unable to tell us if they will be back in stock in the future.. I told them I will wait but its sad because its the only style I want and we're coming up to 9 years this April so I don't want to settle.. i figure what's another year... I tried reaching out to white flash but they only carry the H&A round shape (and I check james allen often I haven't had luck)
 
I was hoping someone here would know of a reputable company. I noticed GOG no longer carry brellia cushions.. there are a lot of posts on this forum about the signature cushion cut diamonds but they are several years old

that's so weird since they are labeled as cushion H&A. Sorry to hear that! JA has a few, but not as precision cut as the ones from BGD.

What size are you looking for? I like these 2 in case you like either.

Ok yay I was going to ask if anyone ordered from Jann Paul? I see they are located in Singapore Asia. I wasn't sure if they're reputable. Has anyone purchase/seen a JP diamond? Also does anyone have experience with paying tarriffs/duties? I'm curious how that works

I know we saw that. My boyfriend spoke with the owners wife on the phone recently they recommend the select line now but she said it is not heart and arrow

JP has a very good reputation and I know some people on the board have purchased from them (though don't remember who right now). Hope someone can chime in soon!
 
Initially they told us its because of a war in Armenia. Then last year understandably they said the pandemic. Recently this year they're saying it has to do with a war again. I would even consider one from their black line but they only have rounds listed there as well. I was kind of hoping we could go the custom cut route but they said the one diamond they can't custom cut is their H&A cushions

Those are beautiful! Such a great find! When I search their webpage I always click true hearts and nothing shows up. Are modified cushions the same look as true hearts? I have always read BG had the best cut diamonds but I can't keep waiting I guess it's time to move on

JannPaul is one of the most reputable diamond dealers in Singapore. I’ve never used them as I prefer colored stones but my friends have and were happy with their experiences.

Thank you so much!! I spent hours googling them tonight but I wasn't sure how good their quality is and I couldn't find many reviews. I'm so glad I posted on here tonight! I have searched this forum many times but never though about posting. That's great you heard positive JP reviews! :)
 
You might want to check out Victor Canera. He has a line called Canera Antique Cushion. Not sure if it what you are looking for, but I love his MRB diamonds. I also think he would custom cut one for you. His settings are also amazing Good luck!

Sadly their true hearts line for cushions aren't actually H&A cut (which is just dumb). So I looked through all the stones under like 20-30k (or something, can't remember exactly what $ amount I put as the "top" of the budget).
 
Ohhh that makes sense I think that’s what BG said about their select line its not real hearts and arrows. The ones you sent look really close!
 
H&A Cushions or some variations of such can be found via the virtual inventory vendors (JA, BN, etc.) here is one from BN: https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-de...NDS&track=viewDiamondDetails&catalogView=true

OP is there a reason why you wouldn’t consider a round or a round in a cushion halo? An H&A cushion does appear very similar to a round diamond in person (I had a Bgd cushion which I later upgraded to a round)

Jann Paul is very reputable in Asia... N especially popular among the crowd who is looking for precision cut. I have seen a few of their cushions in person n they are stunning!!

Customer service is pretty much unrivaled and they are pretty upfront. I have spoken to Eugene a few times too. Here is a video which I took of their cushion which I was considering whe. I visited their store a few months back.


Other sources I have considered : Blue Nile n James Allen. But these do not have ASET scope n are not precision cut.

Service and information given by JannPaul is unrivaled. İ spoken with a few jewellers who wouldnt go into depth nor would they let me question them yet with JannPaul they encourage you to ask questions. Everything is transparent and clear. They show the stone under many scopes, explain what youre looking at, show dimensions and the stone under different lights and so on and so forth. İ felt at ease when İ communicated with them. İ am working on the setting at the moment and may take a while as İ had to send my partner a ring sizer(shes overseas) so once İ get her size we can really move forward with the design.

Best customer service ive experienced almost anywhere and İ havent even started the setting process. İ so far highly recommend them. İ am almost certain they will be able to accomodate your requirements. They are confident in their stones and craftsmanship.

İ atleast recommend a virtual consultation just to see what they have and how they work.
İ am dealing with Eugene.

Yay I’m so happy to have connected with someone who purchased from Jann Paul! Thank you for the advice!! Do you live in the USA? I’m trying to figure out how duty/customs/taxes would work with a jeweler based in Asia.

Hey i am in Australia. So we do not have a free trade agreement as far as İ know with Singapore.
İ will have to have 10% GST(tax) and 5% duty.

However im fine with that.
You should easily be able to find the taxes for your country or even speak with JannPaul as they may know.

They are very underrated İ believe. Theyre customer service as İ mentioned earlier is exceptional. 1 on 1 time 3 hours indepth conversation, live video, diagrams and more i felt like İ was in store.

Then confirming what he recommended out of the 2 stones here on Pricescope reassured me that theyre just not trying to peddle off a stone for the sake of it but want to give the customer something that is exceptional.

İ think its worth doing some more research into

Hi thanks for writing! I’m Just curious why you upgraded your cushion for a round?
I desire a cushion because I feel like it is vintage and timeless.. everyone I know seems to have a round. When I tried on different shapes the cushion looked the best on my hand (I have wide joints the cushion helped soften my hands) personally I love oval but the oval looked the worst on my hand

Thanks so much!! I wrote them a few days ago unfortunately they haven’t responded yet.. I think they may be closed due to the Chinese New Year. I’m hoping to hear from them soon!

That’s a beautiful diamond! Do you live in Singapore? I would love to visit their store but I’m in america. Is there a reason why you didn’t purchase from them? I read on procescope they are expensive I’m wondering how much more than the other companies
