I don’t mind tasteful holiday decorations, but this infringes on people’s comfort in their own home. I would not do such a thing and would hope that my neighbors wouldn’t do something so jarring. If you lived on a large plot of land where others weren’t impacted, it might be a different situation.

I'm not sure how I feel about the lights but if cheesy holiday music was played year round it would drive me stark raving mad.

lol love it as long as no music.
Reminds me of a house near here.
They had an outdoor projector that played video onto the garage door.
Well the thing is it would play anything that was on the memory card.
Enter some teenagers changing the card and use your imagination as to what it was playing.
Cops were called by people driving by and hilarity ensues.

I give up.

What did those juvenile delinquents project? :evil2::evil2::evil2:

Oh come on Karl!
Not even a clue?

Might it have started with the letter, P?
Did it draw a big crowd?

Yes and yes.
Here is your clue:

I’d be ok with it during Mardi Gras or around Christmas, but other than that, yeah nah…..I say NIMBY too!

As long as there in no music , I’m good.

My neighbours directly across the street actually do love putting up clashing multicolour fairy lights on every possible surface of their home. They put them up every year for Diwali, but then don't take them off until Holi is over; so those lights are up basically 6 months of the year.

I don't mind it though. It's not my house. I can shut my curtains to block out the view of their place if I need.

If they started to play loud music though, then we'd have a problem.

Wouldn't bother me at all, as I don't open the blinds or curtains when I am inside the house.

DK :))

We have quite a few neighbors with these adjustable light systems. I love when they change up their colors/patterns—some do it daily. One house, across the street, sometimes has weird-to-me color combos, but that's the "back" of our place. The living room windows face the other side of our lot with lovely nature views so we only see the wild lights on leaving/entering our place. Most times, their color combos/patterns are great!

I guess I'm an outlier here, but this would absolutely make me crazy. I love holiday decorations and neighbors and kids enjoying outside stuff, but I wouldn't be cool with this all the time.

Maybe I'm now that old neighbor, but I have equity to protect. I think this is one reason dreaded homeowners' associations exist?

I would appreciate the colors! . We are in a severe, long term drought down here in south central Texas and everything outside is either dead or crispy brown!

Nope, hate it if it was year round, especially if sound was included.

I don't particularly like it, but could deal with it for a couple of weeks around the holidays. If it was year round, it would drive me crazy. If I could hear the sound at any time, I wouldn't like it at all.

I wouldn’t like music at all but lights are fine. Our various neighbors have done some lovely combinations. I’d love to have permanent lights that didn’t need to be put up each year. We currently don’t put up holiday lights although I put up a couple strands of soft white “fairy lights” in our Japanese maple tree. :D

i wouldnt mind it so much so long as people dont drive by to look at it from dusk till daylight - that would happen here
i would needt o get thicker curtains also
