I'm trying to find a match for a stone that is currently in a pendant so that I can make a pair of small bezel set studs. The stone I already have is this one:

It seems the best match that I am finding is this one

Would these work together? Or should I keep looking?

Nearly any AGS000 of the same near diameter, color, clarity fluorescence and weight will pass as a decent match. The closer it is to the existing diamond, the better the match, but your eyes may not be able to see the fine nuances of exact matching. It is more mental than actual.

They would count as a visual match to me (color and size being the same).

Would the difference in clarity bug you (mentally, knowing it exists?) That's the question only you can answer.

Because the stones are small, I'd be happy if I could find an SI 1 or VS2, but I can't. This stone I found was really the only one that was close in color and size and fairly close in other parameters. I really don't need it to be VVS2. I'm thinking of just selling the pendant and looking for a pair of matching stones, that might be easier!

I used PS guidelines to choose a pair of studs at Blue Nile. They were XXX, F, Vs2. I am a mind clean person. They are almost exactly the same size in mm and table etc. I love them but I have to be honest and say that the only difference I see wearing them is that my piercings location are clearly not matching in my ears.
That being said, if it makes financial sense to match the one you own, you should. Otherwise sell the pendant and start fresh.

If it were me, I'd feel like the VVS2 is a happy accident, a bonus if you will.

I decided to buy the VVS2. I've spent enough time hunting for a match and these will just be an additional pair of studs because the pendant is too small and I rarely wear it because I have others. So at least now I can put the pendant stone in a pair of studs that I will bezel to give me a pair that are smaller and set differently than my others which are prong set. Thank you all for your input. It helped me make the decision!

Ah they are lovely!!

Gorgeous!

Beautiful!
Congrats

Those are amazing! Who did you have make them? Lovely.

Very pretty! A lovely foundation piece.

They turned out really well. Beautiful stones and bezels. Can you tell which is which? I love the backs, too, that’s neat.

DK made them for me. He and Amy always come through for me. I didn't choose the backs, they came that way and were a nice surprise.

@ringo865 I haven't even tried to tell which is which, and am guessing I couldn't even if I tried. I am not educated enough to see the differences, which I guess is good in this instance :)

So beautiful - and a great staple for your jewelry wardrobe. Congratulations!

You did great - nice match for table, measurements mm, & color. Clarity difference will not be seen
