Bought something very pricey on posh mark. Seller included this. Doesn’t know what it is. It’s from a collection she bought and never set.
I love it.
It looks like ametrine?
How can I know if it’s real or lab or what?
Tried to scratch it it didn’t scratch
No real inclusions
A nick on the back along the facetinf in one part

Idk about lab ametrine but a brief look the zoning in jr appears much more distinct than real ametrine

Ametrine , heart shaped, concave cut. Lovely stone.

They do make lab ametrine, but without louping it for the inclusions or if it had very visible ones, you can't tell lab from natural from a photo. Do you have a gemologist/rock and mineral shop nearby? They should be able to tell you.

Pretty stone none-the-less! Enjoy!

Could definitely be ametrine... I was thinking the stone may also be fluorite, but it is much softer and usually not as clean. It would scratch easily, so if you tried and nothing happened, it's likely not fluorite. Pretty!

My initial hunch was smoky quartz; however, on closer inspection when I magnified the pics, I could see purple on the right hand side of the heart.

Therefore, I too believe it is likely to be Ametrine.

DK :))

Oh wait, can't you ask the seller what she/he sent? That might be the easiest and quickest way to get an answer.
