What is the correct ring sizing? How do you wear your rings?

Just curious as to how tight or how loose everyone wear's their rings.

I like to be comfy so my rings fit (will never fly off) but they can spin on my fingers if I want them to.

My bestie was told by her jeweller that rings should not spin so she had these dead tight (to me they were) rings as now that she's had a baby she cannot fit into any of them anymore. She had rings which were much smaller than mine and now she can't fit into mine so we are wondering what to do about her rings if her fingers will not go down.

Which leads me to my other question. How much can you resize? Is there a limitation as to how big you can stretch a ring?

I like mine to be able to spin with light pressure. In short, I don't like to see pudge around the ring. LOL
Plain bands can be resized up a full size without issues.
Anything with melees will be limited, depending on the design, and is best resized by laser and have the prongs rechecked or retightened.

Hmm I am guessing she has to go up a full size and a half.....

And there is a lot of melee.....

Funny story: I ordered my recent rings from Jeff Davies and they are a size 6. So it's not like I have teeny tiny fingers. First ring I ordered he took pictures for me of the ring and it was sitting on top of his pinky and there was no way it could be pulled down. I was FREAKING out and asked him if he got the sizing right because why on earth was the ring so small it couldn't fit on a pinky.

He was all "Relax, I've got really big fingers."

My fingers can swell (sometimes 2 sizes!!!) so I have rings that fit from a 7.5 to a 9.5. And then there are days where I can get NOTHING on but thats a whole other thread:cry2::roll2:. More often than not, I wear the 8's. Those are the most comfortable on non swelling days. the 7.5's are strictly winter wear.

You should be able to go up or down about 2 sizes. But I'd be very careful with that. Some rings can't be resized because of how they were made (lots of melee or highly detailed rings can be problematic)

Plain shanks shouldn't pose a lot of issues.
