What items did your husbands specifically request on the registry?

My fiance and I were talking about registry items. He''s not very picky about what things I select but he has requested a power drill. He said every man needs a power drill and he may need to fix things from time to time. I agreed with him but I have never seen an item like this on a registry. I don''t even know of any stores that do wedding registries what store would carry power drills. Any thoughts?

My FI wants a coffee grinder. Mind you we already have TWO...but apparently he feels the need for a third.

Target might sell power drills if you want to register there...Or I know you can actually register at places like Lowes too...

I know someone who registered at Home Depot; I don''t think it''s that unusual anymore to register for tools. My FI hasn''t requested anything and I doubt he will.

We''re not at the stage of registering yet but my FI really wants a grill. For that, I''m assuming we''ll probably register at Home Depot or Lowe''s. We''ll have to price them out and see which one has better prices.

A power drill is definitely a necessity! In our house we love our reciprocating saw too! (My dad gave us GOOD tools when we moved in!)

My FI requested a wine fridge, a crystal bowl shaped like 4 cala lillies (yes, really!), some non-stick bbq skewers, shelves for the wall, and BLUE sheets (I wanted ivory). He was into it almost as much as I was. We even picked our china and crystal together which really impressed my mom. She keeps talking about how well we make decisions as a team!

My FI wants a drill (we registered for it at Target), a bbq, a rice cooker, a giant clock which I vetoed because it was really ugly and video games. We''re waiting until we get closer to add the video games on though since he can''t possibly wait 4 months to get anything that''s out now

Paul was really adamant about registering for camping gear, as we both enjoy camping. We registered for a tent, the air mattress, a stove, camping utensils, camp pots and pans, a big cooler, and matching thermoses.

He also really liked the idea of a cheese grater, although I''m not sure why.

We registered for a stud finder, an electric staple gun, and things that he thought were "cool" that were power tools, too. He enjoyed it a lot and the tools have come in handy as far as decorating the house, putting together furniture, and things like that.

We had a blast registering; the scanner is tons of fun!!

From the grooms perspective

I registered for the cool stuff on the registry lol....like the DVD recorder... I knew we would probably be getting DVR and so we would want a DVD recorder so that we could record all the TV shows and movies on to DVD''s so our DVR wouldn''t get full. Another interesting thing that I registered for that was a big hit was a griddle. She was TOTALLY against it because she had never had one, but my family had one when I grew up and I knew I used it ALLLLLL the time so I talked her into registering for it. Her 2nd bridal shower....we got 3 of them haha.....I didn''t register for any tools, but I should have because coming out of college I have none so that will be osmething we will be investing in once we move out of our apartment where we do the maintenance on the property but they provide all the tools.

I didn''t want either of these.

He has since talked about a juicer.

We already have a nice amount of tools though, and just bought a new grill this week (Weber Baby Q with grill cart) so we don''t need many ''manly'' things.

He REALLY wants to register for a large LCD flat panel. But I vetoed that.

Funny you should ask... People who know us well can very clearly tell who chose what on our registry!

Things he HAD to have:
cool touch griddle
pressure cooker - he has yet to explain what this will be used for!
deep fryer
a blender he fell in love with
butter warmers
tea infuser (he absolutely never drinks coffee)
electric knife
bar towels
potato masher (he seriously examined 3 before choosing a suitable one

)

Things I HAD to have:
really cool coffee maker
low fat meatloaf pans
champagne flutes
high TC linens
super soft towels
food processor
rabbit wine opener

Our diet and tastes differ greatly! On a given night, he''ll fry up some kind of meat and cook french fries, while I''ll have a salad with chicken. Our poor kids! We also registered for two sets of bedding - one for his tastes, one for mine!

My DH has every tool that he could ever want or need for his work. He did want a bathroom scale. Besides that he didn''t really care and didn''t register with me.

He registered for a bunch of things but his favorite and the one of the few things we got was the Juicer. I was pretty doubtful when he put it on the list, but we use it all the time! We just love that thing. I swear my fruit intake has quadrupled. I can''t say the same about his because he didn''t previous have a fruit intake!

We aren''t completely done with our registry yet, but he''s picked knives and pots/pans. We also decided on the dishes together (more casual china since I already have nice china). He has also been very good about looking at the stuff that I''ve picked (like the bathroom stuff to approve colors and the like). I think he''s good for camping stuff. I would rather just have money since we don''t *really* need anything but I know a lot of people would rather give a gift than money, so we''re registering for things in a variety of price ranges for them.

I was in this boat as well- I also already had my sterling, so he helped pick out a new stainless pattern. I really wanted him to approve/have seen everything we registered for because I hate it when you check out a registry and it''s all really girly/flowery stuff- because a wedding/marriage is about 2 ppl. also it''s weird to me when the guy has no clue what the girl has put on the registry- what if he truly does hate those dishes?

He was most excited about the griddler and belgian waffle maker, also he really likes our luggage.

We went to BBB to register and he got to use the gun and all that so he was very informed as to what was on our base list. After that, I sort of add things when I think of them. I felt odd about that for some reason, like, as DTNYC said, it felt odd for him not to know what one day will be in his home (hopefully) so I asked him to check out the ever-growing list. He looked it all over and then in milliseconds asked where the wok and luggage were!!!!

I was amazed at how quickly he "computed" what was and what wasn''t there. I had never thought of those two bits of heaven before so I was all for it.

I''d love a nice wok but I really think that that Travelpro luggage set would be so great to have as we travel all the time and he has the crappiest garment bag I''ve ever seen. But boy are they expensive!!! I''ve had my Travelpro carry-on size roller for 7 years now and can not believe I spent that much on it!!

WOW... I just realized that I haven''t posted in almost a year (sad, really). But I figured I had to chime in here.

Since I am the future DH (our wedding is next week!), my take on this was interesting:

I only wanted two items. A Henckels carving set in a rosewood box and a crystal decanter to put my best scotch in. That''s it really.

But, I was allowed to scan EVERYTHING at macy''s! Even if we didn''t want it, I was scanning EVERYTHING! I figured we could take it off our list when we left the store. She was laughing hysterically. I scanned, plates, linens, maternity clothes, perfume, PEOPLE (that was FUN!), appliances. My estimate was that we had to delete 80% of the items on list because I was having a BLAST...

Having said that, my favorite dishes are the ones you throw away after dinner... But she did a great job picking our china.

Just let us have fun, give us a choice or two, hand us the scanning toy and STEP BACK

hehe he could have cared less what was on our registry...so i did all of it. but, knowing that he loves wine and playing bartender when we have guests, and all that i made sure to have a ton of fun specialty glasses for things like beer and bar tools etc and that is the stuff he probably likes the most.
