I have two Bichons, Casper and Callie. 10 and five years old.

We have a 10 year old miniature poodle who is a prissy pain in the butt. We also have a 4-5 (was a stray) yo 77lb yellow lab. The lab is in the hospital right now recovering from chocolate poisoning..............dh left a 4lb bowl of m&m''s on the cofee table night before last. The carpet cleaners are here now cleaning up the mess!!

Dogs are worse than kids LOL.

Oh no marriahlyn,
Chocolate is the worst!! Your poor dog, hope he's feeling better soon. Every Halloween that's my biggest nightmare with my kids cause my dogs always seem to get into their candy!! I so get the part about the rugs!!! UGGHH!!

I''ve got two great mutts of unknown heritage...Bogie, who''s sweet, loveable, and not too bright, and of course, Widget: Naughty, fiesty, funny:

I have an oversized yellow Lab.

Luckily it takes a ton of chocolate to kill them especially since she''s such a big dog. Mariah is so mad at her daddy and keeps saying........poor Dixie. My dh feels really bad. Here''s a pic of us and our doggies.

deb,
I Love your doggie. I too have a yellow lab (see avatar) and she''s my big "thinks she''s a human" baby.

Marriahlyn,

Your little Lab could be my Lab''s little sister! They are the same color. Biscuit had lost weight, but is back up to about 110 lbs again. I don''t know if you can see it from his picture, but he is *huge*. Way too big for the breed''s standards, although he is a purebred Lab. People come into the house and say, "That''s not a dog; it''s a horse!" and "You could ride him!".

Deb :-)

mrssalvo,

I couldn't help but notice your dog months ago! Like you, I keep seeing relatives of *my* dog everywhere :-).

You poor thing. Growing up I had a standard Dachshund (who was like a living garbage disposal) and she got into the Christmas goodies and downed a 2 lb. box of chocolate haystacks. She had the biggest belly ache of her life, but she was fine.

I have a 70 lb. Australian Shepherd named Boomer (short for Boomerang).
He is a sweet, sweet snuggle bug.

AGBF-
Dixie was well over 100lbs also but has lost weight since. Our vet has us feeding her 2 cups of Iams Weight control food a day. I feel like we're starving her but she's fine and I guess that's why she scarfs down anything that's lying around. Thyroid problems are very common in labs but we have just never had her checked.........she's been a very expensive dog since dh found her stray and pregnant with a stillborn.

Oh and Mariah does get on her for a short ride occasionally although she's gotten bigger and I've had to make her stop.

I just had to laugh looking at the picture again because her beside dh is no indication of her true size.....he's 6'6" and 260 himself!!

I had an Airedale, Nutmeg, but she died several years ago. She was my first dog and a total sweetheart. I''d like to get another one(or two) once we settle somewhere.

I also like the Kerry Blue, and Welsh Terriers.

What a beautiful Shiba Inu!

I had an Akita for many years. He was my best friend. He was absolutely stunning, and was my protector. I really miss him......

My husband is a "small dog" person, so when Kudo left us (did I mention I still miss him?) he convinced me to get a playmate for his dachschund. I ended up with a pomeranian (the closest thing to a small Akita that I could find....or so I thought. Boy was I wrong!).

Mac, the dachschund is almost 15. Soleil, the pomeranian, is almost two. Skeeter, the jack russell terrorist, has been with us for a little over a year. We''re not sure how old she is because we got her from a rescue, but we think she''s around 4. She had some behavioural issues, and we literally had to teach her to play. She has very obviously been mistreated in the past. We''ve worked through most everything (just a few minor training issues to work on), and she''s so much fun now.

Denise from WhiteFlash also has a pom - she told me all about her baby when I bought my eternity ring.

we have a one year old West Highland White Terrier...Portia.

i have always loved dogs since having one as a small child, a Fox Terrier....we got our first Westie when I was a teenager but my mother returned her to the breeder when she suddenly got pregnant with my last sister...it was a surprise (dad's surgery reversed itself!) and she felt like a puppy and a baby in the house was too much for the family. i was devastated and cried for weeks...and vowed to get a Westie of my own later in life...of course timing was just never right and I wanted to be sure the decision was right and not just impulse decide to get a dog and then not either have the means or the time to take care of it.

last year finally the time came and we got lucky finding Portia after the gal who had a deposit on her had to back out...there is a waiting list here for Westies that can be up to 2 years long, so the fact that we lucked out and found one was amazing, and a female even more amazing. her personality fits so perfectly with us, she's a great dog and we adore her.

i love dogs and would love to have a country house or something with tons of room for them to roam in the future, my fantasy dream of course...for now P is enough for us though Greg makes noises about getting a 2nd dog. however i think one is enough and she receives so much love and affection from us that i think she'd go into withdrawal if we introduced a 2nd animal!

portia's dog page: http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?j=t&i=41170

amongst my other fave types of dogs....we love pom's and maltepoo's, greg loves scottish terriers and i also like cairn terriers which westies are a descendant of...we are definitely smaller dog people since they are easier to handle on a leash, can pick them up if something is happening or going wrong and not to mention small dog poo is just SO MUCH NICER to pick up than big dog poo!! hehe.

I love dog pictures!
I have an adorable but not too bright chihuahua named Cooper-- Special Agent Dale Cooper, actually, if anyone is a Twin Peaks fan...

Here''s one of my favorite pictures of him. That''s my friend Mary. I''m the photographer (and the driver)!

If you''re interested in a laugh, Here''s a funny pictoral story by Mary of an ill-fated day at the dog park.

Eek... I just realized that that say, I was wearing the same outfit, exactly, that I''m wearing in my icon. Total coincidence, I swear...

Widget-
Your dog, Widget, is so unusual! I love her look! Any guesses as to her ancestry?

I own two miniature dacshunds. Bosco and Bella, they recently had puppies together, Rocco, Rosie, and Bambino. I tried to attach a picture of rocco, i hope it works. My dacshunds are what you call piebalds. They have black/tan heads with a white bodies with black spots. They are the cutest little dogs I have ever seen. We are currently selling the puppies, we have two left and I am sad to see them go. They are such good puppies!

I have a boston terrier, Ava who is 16mths and very sweet. My family also has a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Beauregaurd who is three and they will be getting a mastiff puppy as will my older sister in just two weeks!

Howard (see avatar) is a German Shepherd and the biggest lap dog I''ve ever known. He''s 11. My parents have a black lab named Fanny who is coming up on her 16th birthday. She''s amazing!!

ohhhhh i love my dog! he''s a chocolate lab- gorgeous, smart, loveable, likes to try to sit on your lap even though he is a big lab also at around 100 lbs! i miss him so much! he lives with my parents. i want a puppy soo badly, but the apartment we''re in right now does not allow pets unfortunately. i would seriously give up the e-ring i''ll be receiving soon if i could have a new puppy. but without further ado, here is my mario!

this was at christmas when my sister and i were making cookies, and he got some white flour on his face. we thought he looked cute, so added a little more

My curious (as to what is that thing she keeps pointing in front of me) pups. Standard Schnauzer Gus on the left (nearly 8 years) & our new addition (my old gal died of cancer this summer) 3 year old Carly Barly Corn on the right. Her Highness''s calico pillow in the forground. No, it doesn''t match - but it''s hers!

They are about 45 pounds of fun!
