I really enjoyed reading everyone's responses last year, so I thought I'd bring the topic back. :))

Given all the speculation about possible tariffs in 2025, I plan to go big this Black Friday on electronics that I’ve been meaning to upgrade or acquire. I already bought a pair of Bose QC headphone when they were having a 150$ off sale last week. Can’t wait to get them!

Also looking into getting:
-Mac Pro with new m4 chip
-secondary monitor
-upgrade partners Pixel
-maybe a ps5 or a nicer blue ray player

His 'n' Hers Teslas! Who's with me?!

I learned that I just bought her a pair of cozy slippers. She'll hide these from herself somewhere and our lives are sufficiently chaotic that she may be genuinely surprised when she sees them again ("Oh, yay! I thought there was something else but I couldn't remember what!")

We actually will need a car and she is concerned about tariffs.

Yeah I’m worried about the car thing too since my favorite ones are Asian imports like Kia and Toyota. Maybe I should just buy one now…my current Kia is from 2011 lol.

Nothing, however, I should probably start saving towards intalling a stair lift in the house!

DK :lol-2:

I don't really "need" anything but maybe a larger TV for my bedroom. I have a tiny 19" one in there now as the larger one I had died and I still had the old little one sitting in a pile in the basement. The only other thing I might be interested in is trying out a Field's cast iron skillet.

This year I will be buying nothing for the holiday. The thing I want won't fit in my house so...lol I'm good! .

Also I'm not going to lose sleep over any tariff. Its easy to find out what company is building cars in the US, its a google search. Plenty of foreign car companies build here. Its going to be a matter if you want whats being built here or not.

In 2019 Apple was supposed to have some of their computers built in the US. I think its the MacPro. will they do more? I have no clue. Maybe.

As far as their chips, they get them from Taiwan Semiconductor

I think by 2025-2026, they will have enough US made chips for Apple being the M4 will be on 3nm 2nd gen wafer. M1 and I think M2 were 5nm, M3 was 3nm 1st gen and Apple always uses the latest and greatest wafer.

AMD also uses them for the x86 but they tend to be a node or 2 behind Apple. I think they use Samsung fabs for GPU's. Then add Nvidia to the mix who also uses both of these companies.

Samsung has a 2 Foundary sites in Texas, the rest being in Korea. You may see them expand more in the US never know.

Anyway these are the 2 companies that make that bleeding edge silicon ..... Its sure as hell not Intel considering they struggle to get past 10NM successfully. https://www.anandtech.com/show/2137...f-raptor-lake-with-a-super-fast-6-2-ghz-turbo

I do believe there's going to be a shift, or a migration if you will, of where manufacturing of certain goods will take place. It can't happen overnight, but I got a feeling there's going to be some decisions made pretty quickly based on "what we're going to be dealing with the next 4 years".

I don't doubt that all cars will be going up because of the use of global parts. There's no getting around certain things. My plan is to find a car company that manufactures in the US The ones I'd be interested already do.

I really want this but I’m worried the waffles will come out stodgy…….

I love Kmart stuff especially for KK. Last year we had something similar given at our work Christmas party KK and everyone wanted it. I don't know how good they are though lol but for that price I'll be happy to try it :lol-2:

I want this wireless hair curler thing but there's a cheaper version on Shein.

My wish is always the same. To keep the feral cats safe and well fed and as comfortable as possible. It's pretty pricey feeding all our feral cats and I am more than grateful we can afford to do it. I don't need gifts. I have everything I could have ever dreamed of and more TBH. I am very thankful and very lucky and very happy. No amount of material goods will change that. With the exception of buying more cat food. I guess that is a material thing...So my wish list this year is to keep the cat food coming lol

My son stole my hair dryer which is probably 10 years old, so I dont really care. Anywho, I need a new one. I was looking into
the multifunction blow dryers/curlers/straightener types that are now out. Does anyone have one that doesn't cost a small fortune
and that they love? We're talking knockoffs of the Dyson and Shark for maybe less than $200 range....let me know!

If you get it, I'd love to know how it works. I have something similar but it pulls my hair.

I've watched some YouTube videos and it doesn't look like it'll pull too much. Haha so you've encouraged me to order it in the name of research. I'll report back once I get it! =)2

I just ordered some more watercolor paints from Blick, using the e-coupon I earned last year.
My Christmas gift to myself. =)2

HI:

I should prolly buy a better curling iron--even tho I only use it once a week and my cheapie works well. I'll see what black Friday sales yields.....

cheers--Sharon
