What the heck is this line on my setting??

I’ve had this setting, which was made with Distinctive Gem/Stuller, for a few weeks now. Just happened to notice this discolored line today. What is it? Can anyone help?

The metal is 14k Palladium white gold. Unplated. But there is this bright silvery line that seems to run through the entire shank at the bottom.

Adding that is can’t be rubbed off with a lint free cloth. And it definitely goes through the entire shank. I’ve just washed it with soap and water and dried it thoroughly with a lens cloth, and the white line goes through the entire shank and can be seen on all 4 sides of the shank.

Yes I have had a jeweler go back and smooth it out when they left a visible sizing line!

Thank you, Karl. I’m crestfallen here. This was a custom design with Jon. It is a brand new setting. It has never been re-sized. At least, not by me and not to my knowledge. I’ve only had it a few weeks. It’s supposed to be 14k palladium white gold, but according to Vicki, Stuller didn’t stamp it correctly and it’s only stamped 14k. I paid close to $2k for this design and brand new setting and it’s apparently been re-sized already?

I’ve emailed Jon. Hoping he comes back with a good solution.

I just went back and looked at the photos sent to me from DG, before they shipped it out to me. The line is there. So perhaps they made the wrong size and had to correct it during the initial process of making the ring.
