What to do with a chipped stone: vintage synthetic sapphire?

I would like to give this stone away for free if anyone would be interested?

I have no clue if it makes sense to even post this and ship it or just throw it away. But it came from a very old ring and I had the stone replaced. The chip is visible to the naked eye but not glaring.

Thank you for letting me know. IMG_2286.jpeg

Nice size -- so a lot to work with there! That looks quite fixable with a re-cut and that should not be a spendy proposition. Could even refine the pavilion a bit in the process. Maybe a Boyd Fox or similar? A "very old" synthetic sapphire has more meaning and appeal to me than a new one but maybe that's just silly.

Thank you for your answer.
The ring was about 80 years old and from Church and Company. I did have it swapped out to a new synthetic Sapphire.
But I agree that the old pieces definitely have some charm. Just to think that something so old is still around and not much changed.

Maybe I ask this vendor how much a recut might be and have it reset in a pendant. Something to think about.....

Here a photo frpm the ring with this stone.
