I''m in my cousin''s wedding in October, and we''re all having our hair done at the same place. I''m not sure if she''ll dictate to them the style or what, but I''m sure it will be some sort of updo, as the wedding is very formal.
I''ve only had my hair done one other time professionally, and that was to be in another wedding. A young girl did it and did not do a good job. It was plastered across my forehead, no body, and very unflattering. But I also didn''t give good direction because I didn''t know any better. But I did go in with hair that was washed the night before and no products put in it, which worked pretty well for her.
I have tried to get it done one other time in my life, and that was when I was flat ironing my hair. I had straightened it the night before and added some shine serum to it that morning, because that was my normal routine and no one had told me any different. The stylist was not very nice and actually told me in the appointment that she wasn''t going to be able to do anything with my hair because it was too slick. I had to go home and try something myself very quickly before my event... ugh, bad memories.
So... my question is what to do with my hair before this upcoming appointment. I wear my hair curly now... it''s not tight curly, like right out of the root curly. But it''s quite frizzy and has to be tamed with gel, and dries into great curls with body and some loose ringlets. I''ll probably be wearing it that way the day/night before at the rehearsal. But it also straightens well and is very convinceable to do whatever you want, barring any humidity.
So should I wash it the night before and put no product in it... should I leave it alone and go in the next day with it leftover slept-on curly, and she could just blow out the curls or override whatever I''ve got to achieve the updo... any suggestions from you seasoned ladies?
