What to pair with channel?

When I was married many years ago my style was quite simple and I chose to have a diamond band function as both my
engagement ring and weddingband. I have since reset the stones into a one carat channel set band. As I get get a little older I know would like something to pair with my wedding band to add a little ooommph! But because I am going from a wedding band to an "engagement ring" and not the other way around, I''m not exactly sure what besides a solitare would look nice. I''m wondering if the channel set was good idea....

Any input would be much appreciate.

My situation isn''t dissimilar... I got married (JP) with a plain gold band and for our 2nd we had a renewal (friends/family) and I got a channel set anniversary band and I wore one or the other or both for 15 years not having an engagement ring.... all these years I dreamed of having a solitaire flanked by channel diamonds to match the channel band and be flanked by it and the solid band. It was my dream set!! Well... when the time came to get my "engagement ring" (which sounds ridiculous at this late date) I totally switched gears and decided to get *whatever* I wanted and let it stand alone. Now that I''m in the process of having it made, I''m starting to rethink the idea of being able to wear my band with it. I don''t think the channel band would "go" with it, but you know, I don''t think I care! Not to mention the first two rings are yellow gold and this one will be white gold... but oh well! I would have to lose weight to be able to wear ALL THREE of them since each is 3-4mm! But hey, incentive, right? I could always rhodium plate my orig. rings. So, after forgiving my ramble, in conclusion.... whatever you love will "go together" because you love them. Fashion means squat unless you want it to. A plain or channel set solitaire would match perfectly, but if you don''t want to match - don''t bother!
