For those who were given jewelry as a gift for your 10th anniversary, what did you receive?

I just had my ninth anniversary and am already thinking ahead to my 10th! Also, my 35th birthday is going to be this coming December, so both events combined, I figure will be a great excuse for something really fancy! lol

I''m curious as to what others had picked out to celebrate the 10-year mark.

Well, let''s see, so far:

1) a 3.02 ct F VS2, GIA triple Exc, given last yr as THE 10th anniversary early present, already planning to return it for an upgrade, he he.

2) 2 E-F, VVS-VS full eternity rings (one has been made, one currently being made)

3) Heart-shaped diamond pendant (smaller RB diamonds made into a HS)

4) Re-setting of my 3-stone ring

5) Major blingy drop earrings!!

And a bunch of other designer shoes, bags, clothes etc. (but you only asked for jewellery gifts, right?) he he.

I''m still 3 years away from our 10th but have started thinking about it to begin to prep hubby. I''m still working/waiting on my upgrade so any big jewelry will probably be out b/c of the cost of my rings. I would love a pair of 1.5 ctw studs though and if I don''t have them by then may push for them. We''re also planning some type of major trip so that''s where most of the celebrating and funds will go towards that.

What are you thinking MC??

HI:

I was given a choice--diamond earrings or emerald earrings. I decided on 1.05 ctw diamond earrings. And for my 11th, I received the emerald earrings afterall.

What is on your wish list?

cheers--Sharon

I got my first upgrade ring for my tenth and my 35th...

My problem is finding what to buy for DH. He doesn't want anything and he dislikes designer stuff, except an inspicuous LV wallet which he already has. But I digress...

I got a diamond tennis bracelet. MC, I can''t wait to see what you get, are you loving your new studs??

I have 3 years till my 10 year. MC earring studs would be nice. How exciting

Hey, I will be almost like you for our 10th. I will be 34.

I received a 10 ct. diamond necklace.

I''m like Kaleigh, I got a diamond tennis bracelet.

My husband gave me a sapphire ring on the actual date of our anniversary, and then I got a diamond ring that same year for Christmas with a princess cut center stone and round channel set sidestones. And THEN I got a ruby and diamond heart shaped pendant for Valentine''s Day that same year. My husband is one of those who likes to string things out a bit.

This year we celebrated our 15th anniversary, and he started an add-a-link diamond bracelet for me. I have received 5 links already (he said the rest of them are already paid for and in the vault just waiting for the special occasions to come along...lol). I figure I''ll get another one for our anniversary, one for Christmas, one for my birthday in January, and one for Valentine''s Day. That will most likely finish the bracelet (except for the clasp links, which I''ll probably get when the entire bracelet is complete). I always look forward to anniversaries and special "gift giving" occasions with my hubby, because he likes to buy jewelry.

Wow, some of you gals are pretty spoiled! lol!!!

My earrings are great. I''ve worn them non stop since getting them.

As far as ideas, I''m not wanting to upgrade my eng. diamond, which is smaller than PS standards, but is sentimental and I''d like it to remain my primary diamond, so I thought about getting a RHR, but wonder if it''d look odd having a larger diamond on my right hand. . . or even getting a pendant, but then again, would it look odd having a pendant larger than my eng. diamond? Some of the old cut diamonds have caught my eye. I think that would be a fun addition to my collection.

Anyway, I''m really glad I will be having a year to decide as there are so many options! I do not think a 10 ct. diamond necklace will be one of them, though! lol

Hehehe. . . I like that!

that pizza sounds good to me! seriously, i love bling but i wouldn''t want to make anybody think that an extravagant piece of jewelry is the only way to celebrate love and commitment.

sometimes you get the bling, sometimes it''s the pizza and i am ok with that.

My mom got a small diamond pendant - which she gave to me on my golden birthday (29th) on a new chain.

Well..... it WAS going to be a very nice trip to italy but instead I was 8 mos pregnant on our anniversary and the money went toward a minivan. Woop!

SKIP, Ellen, and Crown

Thanks for the consulation comments about my shinny new pizza...it was most kind of you.

Sara...I think you win. Being pregnant on that day was surely something you will treasure more than a bauble. The mini van was a great idea...and besides Italy has been there for few years...it will remain a little longer...just for you two! Your trip there doens''t have to mark a big event...it is life everyday...so live it anytime...not just in 10 year increments!! Carpe Diem!!

MC, have you decided on what you would like for your 10 yr anniv?

I should start planning.

About 6 months before our 10th anniversary, we were spending the night in the city. My husband told me that he was out of ideas for jewelry gifts (silly man!). He said how about if we go to the jewelers and you can pick out your anniversary gift. Umm... OKAY!! While we were driving there, he told me that I could pick out my 40th b''day present also. (That wasn''t coming for a year and a half!)

I chose a graduated three stone pendant for the tenth anniversary. My husband liked the idea of something to represent our three kids. I picked out a diamond tennis bracelet for my 40th.

Our 15th is this year. Money is a little tight right now, so I probably won''t get any jewelry this year. But I am thinking of an eternity band or a diamond pendant for my next piece.

Hey, I''m not even close to deciding. My 10th is in one year, and my b-day is in six months! lol I know I''m planning REALLY far in advance, but really, I want to be sure to have enough money stashed so I can get EXACTLY what I want!

I am planning a diamond pendant, but am not sure about when I will get that (either in the fall or right before my birthday in Dec.), so I''ve been checking out prices and thinking about sizes for now.

Also, I''m loving the bellerina pendant from whiteflash

http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Pendants/The--Bellerina---SETTING-ONLY_1114.htm

Really pretty, but I''m not sure if I can swing that with a .75 diamond! I think a smaller diamond may drown in that setting.

our 16th is tomorrow and I doubt I get anything... I think the 15th go ahead covers him for a while LOL (at least in HIS head!!! haha)

Congratulations, Sara!

I didn''t get any jewelry for our 10th. Two glorious weeks in Greece away from the kids was our gift to each other. However, while in Greece, I got some lovely earrings - YG set with a shell found on the island where we stayed (the "Naxos eye"). It''s a very cool reminder of our trip.

Also for our 10th, my mother gave me a beautiful YG setting that has been in the family for over 100 years. It was an engagement ring that was passed from father to son - until my grandmother lost the stone. Until I have the funds to put a diamond in it (the original stone was 1.5 ct), I have a pretty dark purple spinel that''s going to go in it.

For our 15th (still 3 years away), I''m planning to get an eternity band to stack with my wedding band and engagement ring. Can''t wait for that!
