A quick search didn''t turn up this topic for an already existing thread so I thought I''d throw it out there.

I''ve got a nano that desperately needs some good workout music! What gets your motor running? (musically, that is.

great idea FG!! I just mentioned in the other thread that I borrowed hubby''s ipod and his music taste is soooo different than mine...it''s where our age difference really shows, he''s 8 years older

he''s classic 80''s rock and I''m more top 40. I''m going to have to work on my i-tunes library and buy my own shuffle...

Yay! This is great! Just what I am looking for. I am getting bored with most of my 200 songs on my MP3 player.
I am going to download the new Pink song - I think it is called "Your hand" and the new I think it is Little Big Town song.

Since I have 200 - some great ones that spring to mind are Kerosene by Miranda Lambert (Country Idol winner) and Dixie Chicks Sin Wagon.

Christina Aguiller "Fighter"
Britney Spears "Stronger"
Justin Timberlake "What goes around"
Whitesnake? "Pour some sugar on me"

I will review my mp3 tonight at the gym.

I like poppy music, so bear with my selections!

Toxic - Britney Spears
Bye Bye Bye - N''Sync
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Hey Mama - BEP
LOTS of Justin Timberlake stuff (what can I say, I''ve got a crush)
That "when I wake up in my makeup" song by Hole - can''t think of the name of it right now, but it rocks
Awful - Hole
Some Lily Allen stuff -- listening to her funky lyrics takes my mind off of what I''m doing!
Candyman - Christina Aguilera
Fighter - Christina A.

That''s all I can think of off the top of my head.

I only have like 50 songs so far, so I defintely need more!

Oh, Pink "Stupid Girls"...
Justin Timberlake "Senorita"
Pink "Like a pill" and "You make me sick"ETA: I LOVE Black Eyed Peas "Shut up"!!!!!!

I found the song I was looking for - it is not Little Big Town, Instead it is Sugarland - "Settlin".
I really like Country, Country Pop and Pop.
Sugarland also has a good one "Down in Mississippi"
Here is the link to some of their songs - really high energy! http://www.sugarlandmusic.com/start.asp

Elliala - we have very similar taste in music - I have a lot of songs from my college days - a bunch are from ~ 7 years ago.

All my tunes came from the iTunes store:

Classical Cardio
50 Trance Tunes Volume 1
Movie Hits Vol 2 - Nonstop Workout
Dance Mix 2
Christina Aguilera Hurt & Aint No Other
Everytime We Touch
Cascada Dance Collection
Confessions on a Dance Floor
Colleciton of Remixed Disco Tunes

Every song is intended to keep me going at about 12 - 13 miles/hour on the elliptical for up to 45 minutes.

I have new age, yoga music for when I do yoga, and then a bunch of stuff for when I''m doing workouts like running or working on the elliptical. I listen to everything from celtic folksongs to heavy metal to broadway, so there''s quite a bit. One of the best things to work out to though, for me, is Dragonforce because it''s got a great beat and some pretty amazing guitar. If you aren''t into glory metal though, you probably wouldn''t like it, lol!

I posted a big list of my songs in some old workout thread but I don't remember where it is...so here's kind of a hodgepodge. I absolutely NEED really fast upbeat tunes to keep me going, I actually do move much faster when a peppy song is on and much slower when a slow one is on, so I especially love remixed versions of old songs like disco or 80s or 90's stuff with techno beats in there...because it keeps me moving yet I recognize the song and the tune and the words so I feel connected to it. I can't just listen to random trance or techno music, it has to have music and beats I can recognize. So most of my stuff is old recognizable songs remixed with techno....SO many people are doing that nowadays. I just added 17 new songs onto my iPod 2 weeks ago because I hadn't added anything in like 3-4 months and it was all getting so stale. Now I am way more motivated!

Ok, hahaha - this is a dangerous thread to answer! What's on your Ipod tells more about you than your Social Security number, for goodness' sake!

Most of my workouts are group fitness cardio so I''m at the the mercy of the instructor''s music. There''s stuff I like during aerobics that I wouldn''t think of buying for myself -- like Justin Timberlake''s "Sexy Back." There''s one song that everyone else in class (and probably the world over, LOL) loves that I absolutely HATE: Hips Don''t Lie by Shakira. I adore Shakira but I just can''t stand that song! It sounds like 3 different songs being played at the same time to me.

Anyway, twice a week I do cardio machines/weights and listen to my iPod. I change the playlist every week and am definitely an alt. rock fan. This week:

Lose Yourself -- Eminem
Animal I Have Become -- Three Days Grace
Holiday/Blvd of Broken Dreams -- Green Day
Remedy -- Seether (love this one; I''ll usually hit replay!)
Right Between the Eyes -- Garbage
Knights of Cydonia -- Muse
This Ain''t a Scene, It''s an Arms Race -- Fallout Boy
Liar -- Taking Back Sunday
Vertigo -- U2
Closer -- Nine Inch Nails
I Don''t Love You -- My Chemical Romance
Take It or Leave It -- Jet
