what would you rather have for a BM gift?

Hi Ladies,

I have two different items I have bought for my wonderful bridesmaids (and fabulous groomswoman.) I am only planning on giving them one of these and I am hoping to get your opinions.

2) a large (big enough to fit a camera, phone and such) gold wristlet from Coach.

The BM dresses are a taupe/gold color and I thought the wristlet would match-- well, it doesn''t. Actually, it looks pretty bad next to the dresses, but still, I think it is the more "useful" gift. I don''t know.

What would you rather get as a gift?

Should I come up with something else?

Would you want the BMs to wear the necklaces on your wedding day? They would be very pretty with gold-tone dresses.

I think if I were a BM, I would prefer the clutch because I''m not a big fan of silver or anything plated. But if the clutches don''t match, could you find one that''s not gold-toned that does match? If it''s gotta be the gold clutches that don''t match, then I''d pick the necklaces. Or if you''re planning on giving the clutches as a reminder of your wedding, then maybe the clutches...

So it sounds like most people are in favor of the clutch. Do you think it matters that it doesn''t match at all?
 
the necklace is pretty.... but I''m such a sucker for coach so I vote clutch.
 
CLUTCH! I have always lusted after owning a Coach purse and this would be a phenomenal gift IMO. Maybe I sound lame, but it''s something I won''t spend money on for myself. So it would be really special and it would become my special occasion purse and make me think of your wedding every time I used it!
 
Another vote for the gold wristlet from Coach.

Necklace. I think the "One in a million" makes it something a lot more meaningful. I wouldn't ever use the wristlet, but I'd wear the necklace and think of the wedding.

For the record a longtime member turned lurker also prefers the necklace over the wristlet, and I figured I'd speak up for her considering she was the one who pointed me towards this thread.

im with those for the coach - also something i would not normally buy for myself, but would love to have!
 
Put me down for the clutch as well! The necklace is sweet, but I think a lot of the price is marketing. I have faith you can write your own sentimental note for your BM to feel special.

i got my girls coach wristlets. they did NOT match their dresses as I did not want their "gift" to be about the wedding, i wanted it to be for them to use in future, not for that day.
they loved them - so i would say get them the clutch.

they can use the wristlets if they want to but dont have to

Ditto this! I got my BMs necklaces for a gift, but not to wear with their dresses. I prefer gifts for BMs that aren''t wedding-related. That way it''s just about them. So I''m on Team Clutch, obviously!

Can you post a pic of the wristlet please? I''m still on team necklace.

How many BMs do you have? Could you get personalized gifts for each of them?
 
Here is a picture of the wristlet style, but the ones I got are gold and leather (without the logo.)

I have 6 BM and my original idea was to get a different personalized gift for each one-- but it has been difficult. I was thinking if I do the wristlet, I can do a small personalized gift and note inside.

By the way... if this picture posting works it will be the first time I have posted a picture! :)

Yup. I''m with Freke on this one. I would much prefer the necklace.

I think the necklace is the best way to go-something with pearls is timeless. have you looked at shopintuition.com?
They have a lot of dog ear merch. at times and at great prices!!!!!
 
Coach outlet= clutches for $39, sometimes as low as in the 30''s.


That being said, I''m a sap for something that will ''last'' ie. jewelery. A clutch wears out after a while, but I still have pearls my uncle and aunt gave me when I was 8. Though if I were going for a pearl piece, I''d check out Pearl Paradise.
 
Necklace--it is a lovely piece that can be worn over and over. The clutch is nice too, but I guess I am just drawn to the necklace.
