What would you recommend for a necklace with budget of $6000?

If your budget was up to $6000, what diamond necklace would you get?
Particularly considering that within this budget this would very possibly be the last upgrade for a long time.

Would love to see what you all would do!

Riviera necklace

I would have a look at deejayjewelers on eBay.
They are a bricks and mortar manufacturing jeweller in the US who also sells on eBay.
I bought my diamond tennis necklace from them.
For just under $6,000 you can have around 10 carats as either a graduated diamond tennis necklace or all the same size diamonds.
They have different carat weights at different prices, higher and lower.
I am very very happy with mine. It is very sparkly and well made.
They do offer a no fuss return if you dont love it upon receipt.

I agree with either riviera necklace or tennis necklace!

Do you have anything in mind, though?

Riviera necklace. It’s surprisingly low profile too so is quite wearable

I'm with @Snowdrop13 ...If you dont own a solitaire I would buy the biggest I could get (ACA...for upgrades). If you own a solitiare
already then a tennis/Riveria necklace but it also depends on your lifestyle. I would get very little use out of a tennis necklace/riveria.
I would get lots more wear out of any kind of single pendant type necklace (solitaire or design like Alhambra pendant). I would need
necklaces that were more low-key to get more wear out of them.

I would buy a statement pendant with 6k USD, and it would not be a solitaire as it would be too small for my chunky neck and size; most likely to be a paved diamond puff heart like the one I sold, about 1in/2.5cm without the bail, when I needed the money a while ago.

DK :))

Me, I would buy a curb link gold chain. Or else save up for a larger solitaire.

The Tiffany Victoria necklace in size medium fits this budget if you are into branded items. It is an incredibly wearable necklace. I have had mine for over 6 months now and I wear it 24 x 7. It is not an "in your face" type of necklace but I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Here here. The new Tiffany Victoria has some show stopping, yet very wearable, pieces.

The only reason I might be tempted to buy a Rivera necklace is if were long enough to double as a bracelet. Otherwise it would be a no for me.

The largest ACA in your budget!

Diamond Riviera or Diamond Tennis Necklace. You won't ever need to upgrade it and it can be very versatile and worn in many settings. IMHO.

P.S. DeeJay Jewelers for the Necklace Tennis or Riviera.

I think it would depend on how I planned to wear what I bought. If it was something I wanted for everyday wear, then I’d go for an ACA, if it was for special occasions then a diamond tennis necklace.

Thanks for all the responses. Based on this I am definitely narrowed down to a riviera or a solitaire.

I love solitaire necklaces but possibly would be a new never ending upgrade temptation :)

Rivieras are so gorgeous but maybe I would get less use of it?

Perhaps I need to try on a few of each - rivieras to find the right one that can be versatile size and to be sure they don’t flip on me etc. and solitaire to see if I can realistically choose a long-term keeper

I think that’s a really good idea @Anne93, no point buying something you’re not sure you’d wear much.

Honestly, the diamond solitaire is nice I had one, but it gets lost. It just doesn't make the statement a tennis or riviera necklace makes. If you are leaning toward a necklace which is versatile but you are on the edge decision wise, why not consider a tennis necklace, the diamonds are all the same size. You can add or wear those alone just like you can a Riviera Necklace but I think they look a bit more subtle depending on the carat weight. Think about trying a tennis necklace too.

I like this idea- sort of like a middle ground. I haven’t been able to settle on either yet . Will look into this for sure!

Isn't this a fabulous dilemma to be in ? LOL No matter what you end up with, a diamond necklace is a diamond necklace , sparkles at or around your neck, it's all wonderful! I am attaching my Riviera and Rubellite Earrings. Diamond Riviera Necklace and Rubellite Earrings.jpg Good luck and keep us posted. I will .

I have also purchased from DeeJay. Mine is a 13.21ctw Riviera style necklace.

I love it but find it a but much to wear as an everyday piece, so I am considering a smaller carat weight tennis style necklace (diamonds all the same size) that I can wear more often.

I would much prefer 16 inches in length (DeeJays are 18 inches) but I’ve read the problem with shorter styles is that they tend to flip and twist.

I also have a Tiffany style diamond cross that I wear all the time, something else to consider if you’re into that kind of thing.

So many choices…..so much fun! Best of luck.

I bought a smaller weight tennis style because I did want something more subtle. I already had a 15" 5 ct. one in white metal so opted for a longer one of the same weight in yellow. It is very subtle. I purchased the YG from Deejays as well and am happy with the quality, and the cost was less than half of your budget, so you could go with larger stones. For me, it wasn't about budget but I wanted something that I would wear often and not only when I was dressed up a bit. A lot depends on your lifestyle I think. That will probably determine how much bling you can wear on your neck regularly. Here are photos of the two that I have. The white is a vintage piece.

Sorry a bit off topic, but your vintage piece is exactly what I would like for everyday wear….and it’s the perfect length. If I remember correctly the stones are mounted on several small ‘bars’ so flipping/twisting would be minimal or non existent. It’s beautiful.

OP might be interested in looking at vintage pieces as well? I’ve not seen this style before.

thank you. yes, there are bars and there is no flipping at all. I'm not sure how common it was to set them like this, but it certainly works.
