I know there are a bunch of us in the 2-4 month left group. Just wondering how everyone is doing.

Recently, I sent out the invites (although I have 2 left, 1 to hand-deliver and the other I need an address). I also decided against doing my own flowers b/c it was becoming WAY too stressful. I found and booked a florist and they will also provide flowers for the DIY centerpieces and rose petals for the flower girl.
I met with and love the violinist who will play for the ceremony.
My dad offered to throw the rehearsal dinner, and my mom offered to throw the shower. Yay!
Things are moving along!!!

Let''s see, what''s left for me:

-find a bra
-get dress and veil altered
-order glass bowls for centerpieces (still waiting for them to come in stock from the darned online store)
-figure out how to make a huppah and buy supplies
-do the cookie favor trial (doing that this Sunday!)
-finish planning the music (my brother is in charge and will use an ipod)
-buy gifts for wedding party
-make OOT and BM boxes
-buy a shower and rehearsal dinner outfit or find something in my closet to wear (this one should be fun b/c I''ve been losing weight so I''ll get to buy something in a new size!!)
-have hair trial (already scheduled for August)
-pick cake design

Nothing huge left, thank goodness so I am very happy with the progress. But sad also b/c my FI goes out of town until mid-August

.

The day is almost here!!!

I''m at 102 days!!!

- Invitations- stuffed in inner envelopes but not addressed yet. Mom is doing that. Will be mailed August 1st (or so)
- Finish up website
- Dress fittings start next week
- Hair and makeup trials
- order M''s ring
- Plan Bridesmaid Luncheon
- Finish ordering Bridesmaid Gifts
- Get M to make a decision on Groomsmen gifts
- Groom and Groomsmen measurements
- song lists and music to dj
- CEREMONY PLANNING - have to map it out with officiant and select readings
- select final menu for buffet and bar
- pick table linens
- figure out programs
- Rehearsal Dinner invites, transport and decorations
- invitations for "the night after" dinner (family and any wedding party still in town)
- hotel goodie bags for out-of-town guests
- decorate flower girl baskets
- pick out a guest book

Showers are 7/7 and 7/21, plus one at work that I "don''t know about" yet. Bachelorette is 8/24-26!

It''s coming up fast now!!!

This is my current list of to do''s:

Decide on food for day of at my house for the girls getting ready

Programs
Decide on favors
Marriage License
Rehearsal Dinner (decide if we are going to have one, and if we are, we have to run the actual rehearsal ourselves)
Make sure fi buys attendant gifts & finish my own!
Dress fittings
Buy a guest book
Finalize song choices with the band (including picking a first dance song!)
Finalize room setup with Country Club
Decide on a day of timeline
Send pre-counts of food to Country Club

i am sure there is more, but this is all I have on my list right now! I hope not too much more comes up!!!!

I''m getting married ONE MONTH FROM TOMORROW....

I''m not having flowers, decorations, music, or anything at the ceremony. My brother, who is a minister, is performing the ceremony and I''ve met with him and he knows what to do. So the only thing left for the ceremony is...... A DRESS!! yikes, I know. Most of you on the board got your dress years in advance and I''m down to 30 days. I just haven''t found anything I really like. I have one in the closet that I ordered that will be OK if nothing else comes up. I found another one online that I want but it''s out of stock until July 7th.

For the reception, I have the caterer, band, and baker for the cupcakes all lined up and paid for. Invitations are addressed and ready to be mailed tomorrow. Since it''s a small event we just wanted to mail them one month ahead. I have laterns for the centerpieces, table clothes, etc... I think things are mostly done for the reception other than decorating which we cannot do yet.

I need to:
Get a dress
Get a license
Pack up my whole house and move
Go to an 8 year old''s state baseball tournament for FOUR DAYS
My son is also having his tonsils out in 2 weeks!!!!
And somehow manage to work full time and get all this in.

ok, now i''m stressed!!!!

Good luck to everyone.

I have a lot that is left!....so I will talk about what I have done!

- Reception site and church, done (just need to do the marriage preparation).
- Dress: JUST ORDERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I faxed my order today, I am SO excited!
- Got all the paper stuff for my DIY save the date fans
- Took e-pics this weekend :)
- Finished a good draft of the website!
- Finalized contracts with two hotels for our OOT guests
- Bought all the OOT totes and some beach stuff to put in! (water guns, vicers, etc).
- Met with a person for the invitations, will resume this task when I get back from vacation...
- Almost decided on caterer and DJ!
- Decided my BMs will all get to choose their own little sexy tea lenght black dress for the wedding. I want of all them to feel beautiful and to choose something that best compliments them. They are so excited (and thankful!).

I think that''s it for now!!!

M~

oops!!!!!!!! I just realized that this was for girls that were 2-4 months away!!! haha..

Ok, ignore my post, I still have 8 months to go!!!

M~

I''m almost four months! I am at 130 days. I just heard from our photographer and we may need a new one. Our DJ is also leaving us, and my family wants me to get a makeup artist. My dress is coming in a length that is for normal height girls (I forgot to order petite and now it''s too late), I am having a church wedding with readings I don''t know and I''m feeling REALLY STRESSED OUT. I feel like I''m going to break down any minute. The suits aren''t chosen, the MOH/MOB/MOG dresses aren''t chosen, I have to choose USHERS. I''m hypervenitlating just looking at this whole thing. Seriously, I think it''s making me ill.

At just 11 days, I have only a few things left:

-Wrap Bridal Party Gifts
-Find GM gifts (oops)
-Finish making favors and place cards
-Make final payments to the vendors
-Finalize seating chart (it''s pretty final, but I have to tweak it a touch)
-Make Programs
-Finalize Ceremony (We have a teeny bit of tweaking to do)
-Make Posters of seating chart for the reception
-Finalize reception playlist (We have about 5 songs to finish editing and adding)
-Run through of reception hall (The caterers are setting the whole thing up the evening before, so we can check everything out)
-Write Thank You Notes (This is a continual to do)
-Finish Packing for the Honeymoon!!!!!!!

I think that''s about it.

5 days away!!!!

freaking out today for the first time! Don''t really have many ''major'' things to do other than worry my little mind, and occupy myself with the small details like seating arrangements and speeches.

Realized my dress is a bit too big and can''t do much about it...so need to let that go (or eat a lot in the next few days)

M~
Mandarine,

Of course you can post too!! I was just a bit self-absorbed when I wrote the post and thinking of my upcoming Sept. date. Post anytime!! Btw, where''d you get your OOT totes? I was just thinking of using regular old gift bags but totes would be cute!

Ok, you ladies have got me remembering other things to be added to the list. Thanks, I think
20.gif
!

-get the license
-finalize cermony wording w/officiant
-pre-plan the rehearsal (Danielle, we''re doing our rehearsal too so I''m going to go the location in the next few weeks and try to figure out who goes where, etc...)
-seating chart
-plan the day after breakfast/brunch

RT, it actually sounds like most of your big stuff is done except the dress.
Except of course you have a ton of other things going on. I just recently moved and I feel such relief having it done now. Just think, in one month, all that stuff will be behind you! Good luck w/everything!!

Blushing Bride, do you know what you''re getting your FI? I still haven''t decided if I''m doing this and if so, have no idea what to get!

Amber, you''ll get it all done! I would try to just focus on one thing at a time, otherwise, you will go crazy! I know b/c I tend to get very stressed and have to try and relax. It has helped me to try and accomplish one task at a time. When will your dress come in? My tailor isn''t having me bring mine in until a month before so you definitely have time to get yours altered. Sorry to hear about needing a new photog. and DJ! I wouldn''t worry too much about the readings and choosing ushers.. Just focus on the big stuff for now. Good luck!

Fancy, sounds like you''re pretty much done. Congratulations, 11 days left!!

Jas, Congratulations!! Well, if you can''t do anything to change your dress, no need to worry too much. At least you don''t have to worry about dieting the few days before your wedding. Good luck!

Thank you Dixie ;)

re the bags, I got them at Michaels. It''s just a natural colored canvas tote and I will probably put some sort of cute design on it (nothing too crazy because I want girls to actually use them!). I thought maybe like a little Palm tree or something in one of the corners (not like our names or anything lik that...hehe).

They were $8 for 3 totes, which is not too bad...it''s about the lowest price I have seen, but I''m still searching. I can still return them if I find something cheaper
10.gif

I plan on putting all FL related things in there, along other things:

- welcome letter
- oranges (state''s fruit)
- water gun ($3 for $1)
- vicer (they were $1 at the dollar spot in target)
- a small sunblock
- tylenol, etc (might buy in bulk and make little baggies, so it''s cheaper...hehe)
- some maps and activities for the area (hopefully free)
- hoping to find something cute with aligators on it...

First, Congrats on deciding on having a shower! And that mom is taking care of it :) I''m very happy for you!!!! And also quite happy you decided to do what you''re doing with flowers lol. I came to the same conclusion and compromise: have the florist supply flowers (you know they''ll only give you the good ones AND they''ll make sure they are open the way you want them to be for when you put them in centerpieces).

Okay, so I''m at the 60 day mark today and this is what I have left:

Last fitting sometime either late july or early august
Engagement pics in July
Teeth whitening either before engagement pics if I have enough saved by then or simply before the wedding
First hair trial this Saturday
Shower this Saturday
Buy hostess gift for MOH
Have to make the music cd for my own shower by Friday (moh/sis didn''t have time to do it
20.gif
)
Get veil exchanged or deal with the one I have
Develop a detailed rain plan just in case
Finalize ideas and then details of rehearsal dinner STAT!!
Finalize ceremony wording and change anything we need to
Meet cake lady one more time to sample her lemon rasberry cake before deciding
Make organza overlays
Make memorial candle
Re-Finalize where everyone is getting ready (things have changed somewhat)
Create a drink menu so I know what to buy for liquor
BM dresses should be in any day now
Somehow manage to even consider the fact that we are going on a honeymoon for 9 days and may want to pack, buy a new swimsuit, plan some excursions.....
Get marriage license about a month before.....probably on FI''s bday which is July 30.

I already have lots of the "stuff": cake server set, toasting flutes, garder, hanky, shoes, spanx (if I even use them), nubra, petticoat, evening bag, cufflinx for FI, shoes for FI, BM gifts, and MOH gift strewn about my office but still need:

Hand fans for guests at ceremony
"Bridal" Parasol for me

We already have our beautiful rings and honeymoon booked.

I think that covers it :) It''s amazing how much work this wedding has been!!! But I think, bridesmaid problems asside, this has been so much freakin'' FUN!!!!!

Guess what! I get to check something off my to-do list already! The bowls for the centerpieces finally came in! I''ve been checking that darned website for about a month now waiting for them to be re-stocked. I ordered 10, which is probably too many but I''d rather have too many than too few. I just LOVE checking things off the list!!

Mandarine, I like your ideas for stuff to put in the bags. I read about doing OOT bags and little bags/boxes for the BM''s on the day of. So for our OOT bags, I''ll add: water, chocolates (there''s a great local company and they are sooooooo good!), maybe wine, maps, maybe some spa type products, cheese/crackers/nuts or snack type options, sunblock (good idea!) and possibly other things.
For the day of BM boxes: water, cookies, cheese/crackers, chocolates, mints, grapes, and that sort of stuff. I think those will be fun to put together.

So Happy, thank you! I''m excited about the shower and thrilled about the flower decision. I felt a bit bad for not doing the total DIY for a few seconds but boy am I over it. With the flower trial and having to buy buckets, ribbon, appropriate tools, proper care for the flowers, too many websites to choose from, no good places that offer samples, I was going a bit batty! I am really happy w/the florist I found and I think the cost is reasonable. Yippee!

Seems like you''ve got the major stuff done but a few DIY projects left!
Yeah, honeymoon stuff... I forgot about that!
What''d you get your bm''s and moh?

You sound so happy!!!!! Seriously, I''m smiling FOR you right now!!! lol

As a checklist sorta gal myself, I totally empathize with your joy! In fact, sometimes I REALLY love checking things off of the Knot.....that dang list is soooooooooo dang long!!

For my bms, I went to Things Remembered and got them each this jewelry box. I put a monogram on each of them and I''m trying to find something really sweet and personal to put inside. I''d love to do something with thier birthstones but I don''t want to get them something "fakey" so I doubt I can afford that plan. I''ll think of something to put inside.....I''ll keep you posted. But the monogram looks so beautiful on this thing and it has that lovely Friend''s quote on it included in the price. It was on sale for $15 each when I went in the store that day. Monogramming cost $6 each and I had a coupon so it came to maybe $17 each.

friendstrinket box.jpg

For my sister/moh, I got her the Anastasia musical jewelry box (that I secretly really want for myself
31.gif
as it goes with my cake server and toasting flutes.....but makes it more special for her to have that box as it came from my wedding collection). I also monogrammed it. It was $45 after the coupon and monogramming. I know she''ll adore it!! And I like the idea that it''s a jewelry box like the others got, but souped up to distinguish her :)

Let me try that again.......

PS............No honeymoon yet??? I swear I thought you had that already. Girl...............that is keeping us alive right now lol.

Um, me? We definitely have ours planned! I need that vacation more than I can express!!! Can't wait!

So Happy, I like those jewelry boxes! Unfortunately, I''ve given so many boxes as presents before that I want to do something totally different but just have limited funds. I''m still searching. Gifts are on my mind right now so hopefully I''ll come up w/something good for them, the groomsmen, flower girl and my son the ring bearer.

Isnt it fun trying to do all of this on top of working 50+ hours a week

3 months out here and I feel like we're way behind. This list is going to be depressing.

- Book 'getaway' car (tomorrow)
- Block hotel rooms (tomorrow)
- Book officiant (this week)
- Book ceremony musicians
- Send out invitations
- Menu/cake tasting
- Order rest of 'accessories' (veil, earrings, possibly a brooch for hair)
- Buy suit for FH
- Finalize flower order
- Dress fittings (dress is coming in soon), alterations
- Order glass bowls for centerpieces
- Have engagement pics taken/select shot for guestbook matte (mid-July, already scheduled)
- Professional teeth whitening
- Marriage license (week of wedding)

Ugh. That's all I can think of now. I'm sure I could triple the length of the list if I really thought about it, but I'm trying not to.

I''m getting married ONE MONTH FROM TOMORROW....

Wow! you''re stressing ME out!!! that''s a LOT to do! What are your coping strategies? Do you need help with anything?
My son has baseball practice every night for about 3 hours. His all star team won the district and gets to go to state so he''ll be at practice for another week and a half. I am friends with his coach so i''ve arranged for him to bring my son home each night... now I have 3 free hours an evening to pack the house, clean, etc! I think this will really help. Normally I have just been at the ball field wasting away each night.

I''m not really stressed at all about the reception... the food and band are done... everything else that gets done is just "extra" and I have had several people offer to come help decorate the day or so before.

I''m mainly just stressed about moving and getting all that done around all my daily responsibilities. I hate moving. Maybe I need to post on the family or hangout board for some moving tips.

At first I really wanted to get them all different things but then I realized that I wanted to make sure I got them something that wasn''t jewelry (unless it was good quality...but can''t afford that) and that they may actually see every now and then after the wedding. I had never thought of boxes as gifts before but when I saw these, I really felt happy to have found them. I''ve wanted to get my sister the Anastasia box since I got engaged and bought my server set and flutes (it is really a very ornate, sparkly, beautiful jewerlry box. Nice size, too) because she actually does not have a jewelry box and I KNOW she''ll love this!! I can just see her face :) I''m so excited to give this to her.

I am SO glad you do have a HM booked! I don''t know where I got the idea that you didn''t.......
40.gif

Another thing checked off the list yesterday!! I went to Home Depot and got all the pieces to make the huppah. I''m making it out of piping and got all the various parts to attach the pieces and voila, I have a huppah! I even convinced the guy to cut the piping for me otherwise I would''ve had to buy a saw and risk having fewer fingers. I just love Home Depot!
36.gif

My mom and I are going to go try it out this weekend at the ceremony site.

I forgot to add to the list: buy my son a suit for the wedding.

Bravesfan, it looks like you really have all the big stuff done! My mom is coming over this weekend to show me the dress she picked out. I''m a little worried but going to try to be happy that she''s happy about what she picked. Is it wrong to care if the color she picked totally clashes w/my colors
33.gif
. I''m attempting to be a bigger person and not care.
1.gif

EBree, your list isn''t terrible! You can certainly get that stuff done in 3 months!! Another to add to my list: figure out dress accessories. You guys are really making my list sooooooooo much longer!

RT, go to craigslist for free boxes. We just moved and that helped so much. I didn''t buy a single box or packing supplies except tape.

So Happy, I''m sure they will love the jewelry boxes. They are very pretty! I did a lot of searching last night for gifts but still not sure. I do think I''ll just put a few things and make a gift bag.

Hi Ladies! I''m new...been lurking for a while and just decided to register. :)

I''m getting married on Sept. 30. It''s a private ceremony, so I don''t have nearly as much stress and planning as the rest of you do. Still left for me:

1) Getting a dress and possibly bra
2) Getting honeymoon booked...still trying to decide where to go
3) Getting the rings in hand
4) License

We''ve made a ton of progress in the past couple of weeks, though!

Let''s see.... I have 44 days to go and counting and I still have:

Dress alterations (scheduled for July!
32.gif
)
Wedding undergarments
Shoes (will order next week)
Finish veil
Jewelry (NO idea!!)
FI''s apparel
Final payments
Hair/makeup trial (2nd)
Finalize flowers
Marriage license

I guess that''s not too bad, but it sure feels like it''s a ton! I''m exhausted thinking about it!
