When are you picking up your gown?

My bridal shop has me down for 4 days before the wedding. I think that''s a good idea as I have cats and I don''t want any kitty mishaps. Plus, we just have a small apartment and I want to make sure it has a safe place to be up until the last few days. However, I''m wondering if there are advantages I didn''t think of to having it a couple weeks before. The Knot suggests picking it up about a month before, too, so I''m just wondering........

When are you picking yours up and, well, why?

My parents are bringing mine to me 2 days before. I am currently in an apartment to, so I don''t want to keep it here. They got it from the seamstress about 2 weeks ago, and they took it to be steamed yesterday.

I don''t know why you need it a month before unless you are planning to take it to be altered somewhere. If you''ve already had a final fitting, 4 days should be plenty.

I know if I had mine any earlier, I would just want to put it on all the time. So it''s best that it stays away.

Mine is currently in my closet. My tailor suggested bringing it in early August and then I figure I''ll pick it up whenever it''s ready. Could be more to it than that but that''s all I know!

I'm picking mine up friday- but then I'll be married Saturday! Hooray!

I'm waiting till the day before because I want there to be no chance for my groom to see it as well as to try to keep looking pressed.

I plan to schedule to pick it up on the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. I''d prefer to do it Friday but I know I want have enough time to do all that.

I will probably try to do Friday because we don''t have a good spot where FI won''t see it.

Well, it sounds like I''m not missing anything, then The deadline just seemed so out of whack with what the shop''s owner suggested that I figured I had better check it out.

yeh, i kept it at the salon as long as possible. it was better that way - wrinkles, fi, a doggie & hurricane season.
plus with my dress, we were suppose to lay it all out so that it would wrinkle less. didn''t want to take any chances. period.
