I thought I would ask all you brides this question. My nephew is getting married in September. Do you think it is too soon to order something off their registry? They are in the process of closing on their house later this month and I thought it would be nice if they had something to start off with in their new home. Mind you, this is in addition to a housewarming gift which is bedroom furniture that the entire family is chipping in on and they are unaware. (sneaky aren''t we?!)

BTW, would you open a wedding gift that arrived somewhat early or would you wait to open?

I say go ahead and send it! It''s sweet that you want them to have it now, and I''d be happy to take an early present if it was something for my new house!

Aww, that IS really sweet and sneaky.

As for the wedding gift, I think you can send one as soon as you like. However if you want it to be understood that it is a "wedding gift" vs. housewarming or engagement gift, you should send a wedding day specific card or comment with it.

I think it''s a great idea. Funny though, because FI and I were just talking about this--we have gotten a few gifts and our wedding is in October. FI thinks they are engagement gifts, but I don''t know how we can know for sure. I guess we''ll know if we don''t get anything else from them! But we are definitely opening them now!
