I want to preface by saying I’m extremely lucky my spouse treated me, but I am worried my 3ish Ct - 9.3 mm RB is too much, too large for every day.
If you now think you could go bigger, How long did it take to feel that way?

Congratulations! Did you end up setting it in the simple solitaire setting that you posted? If so, would LOVE to see!

LOL @yssie!

Wow, congratulations! Give it some time, it just might take a while for your eyes to adjust to it. Would love to see pics!

Congratulations on your upgrade! Unfortunately, I get pretty comfortable with size fairly quickly. Probably within a month or so of wearing it. It's not that the diamond suddenly looks smaller to me, it's just that I adjust to it. I prefer more finger coverage on my less than delicate hands. There's always that pesky budget though...

I think I'm the exception, but it took me a good 13 years to decide I want bigger.

Beautiful and beautifully proportionate on your finger!!

I think it looks so gorgeous on you and not too big at all!

Could you share where your inspiration photo for the solitaire setting came from (in your previous thread)?

I actually have a mock up from David Klass for my 2ct that was the inspiration, but my husband worked with a local jeweler to have a similar design made because they sourced the diamond. Was quicker! Will post pics when I get my cushion reset as a RHR by DK

ETA: my original inspiration was from the Ring Concierge pic added

I think it looks beautiful! Maybe it sits up higher than your previous diamond making you feel like it is so much bigger?

Tell us the specs of your new diamond!!

I think it’s right at 3ct. G VS1. Don’t have the cert handy for exacts
I like a little lower color grade and feel like I could have gone lower even.

It's lovely, but you have to feel comfortable with it.

This forum is heavily biased towards "bigger is better," which is fine, but not objectively true for everyone.

I had an 8mm round diamond that I found too large for my comfort. Now my stone is 6.7mm and I am much, much happier with the size. (It was also just an all-around upgrade in every other respect)

...about 4 days.

Oh my goodness it is STUNNING!! Just perfect - cheers!!

It is a gorgeous ring and looks beautiful on you. It doesn't look overly big to me. I hope you can get used to it. Agree with @oncrutchesrightnow, hang out on PS for a while, that might help! :D

I think it's gorgeous, and looks terrific on your finger.

I think it looks like a bright, white diamond. Do you mean you would rather have had a DEF color or more like an HIJ color?
I do think it looks very nice on your finger but I certainly echo others - it needs to look and feel right to you.

I agree. You have to be comfortable with your choice. Some people never get DSS. I also went slightly smaller recently and super happy about that

I did!
I feel like it’s just big.. Even tho my 2ct cushion was almost 9mm. I joked with my husband people will think it’s a “fugazi” 48E54623-0A19-48A2-A9E8-C7F184476E2C.jpeg3ADE2B23-A558-47E0-9DE6-9D56F78D8639.jpeg

I think it’s beautiful and looks proportionate. Doesnt look too big at all. But as others have mentioned, you have to be comfortable with it. Sometimes, people feel uncomfortable with bigger diamonds if their own circle of friends have smaller diamonds on average or the people in your area don’t typically wear big rocks.

Would love to see more pics :).

I'm one that has a very particular size range that I can actually wear comfortably. I don't think I'd ever want bigger than 'my range' which by PS standards is on the smaller end proportionally. As long as I don't deviate I'm good to go. Give it a little while and you'll know.

It took me over 20 years for DSS to set in! I didn't even do a reset until I had to deal with an illness in my family. Then I found PS a little over a year ago and it's been downhill ever since  .

I've worn 3ct and felt it was too big, it felt and looked odd to me. It's all personal preference honestly. You have to be happy with it!

Depends on stone. My 3 carat felt huge and then right after 3 months. And then smallish after 6 months.

My 2.47 felt smallish when I bought it and still does but I’m keeping it for other reasons.

Thank you, hoping after a few months I’ll get used to it too

We were both still university students when my husband and I got engaged. My ring held a 0.26ct diamond, which was quite average in my social circle in the 1970s.
About 5 years later, my husband started to say he wanted to get me a bigger diamond. I kept saying no, as I am sentimental about my engagement ring.
Finally, after a few years on Pricescope, I finally “agreed” to a right hand ring. So now I have a 2ct. AVR ,and still wear my original diamond on my left hand. But I realized that I am far from the norm here.
So I guess my answer to your question is that DSS still hasn’t set in after nearly 48 years.
