How many hours ahead of time should I book a hair appointment on my wedding day for myself and three bridesmaids?

For instance, I''m getting married at 5:30ish. The hair salon is about twenty minutes away from where I will be getting ready before the ceremony, and the ceremony is about fifteen minutes away from where I will be getting ready.

Sorry to keep asking so many questions today LOL!

Thanks again everyone!

I had only a MOH but we went with 3 other girlfriends to the salon for hair and makeup and they did several of us simultaneously. Our appointments started around 9 and the wedding was at 2:30. The distance between the various places was similar to you, and we had plenty of time.

So my vote is around 6 hours ahead of time.

Thanks RMS!

Yeah I was thinking of making appointments for around 12:00pm. That way, even if we are at the salon for two hours, I will still have about two hours to get ready before leaving for the ceremony.

Itll take at least 3 hours if you have 2 moms, yourself, and 4 BMs getting ready, even if some are simultaneous. We had our first start at 8am and my wedding was at 3. My mom and I left the salon around 1230, just in time for her to spend an hour sewing my veil back together...

Hmm. I have been sort of wondering about this too. My wedding is at 2pm.. 9am sounds SOOOOO early to start all that for me. I mean I totally believe you, because then you will have lots of time to get home and get ready and not have to rush, but what do people with morning weddings do? Salons dont'' open much earlier than 8am do they?

As a related question (and what I Thought the tiopic of this thread meant), When did you ACTUALLY book your appointments? Including the trial. I don''t have a salon I normally go to, but I do have an idea of where I am going to go, but they don''t know me or anything. I was thinking of booking my appointments in like January. (Wedding is may 27th) but I think I need to have my hair trial/bridal portrait done in Februaury, so should I call earlier than that? I know my friend waited too long to book her hair appoointment and had a hard time getting one even with two bridesmaids, and her wedding wasn''t even until 4pm.. so she had all day..

Most of the salons around here open early specifically for weddings. I know a gal that had an 11am wedding and her salon was open at 6:30am for her to come!

MelissaSue -- my wedding was at 3pm also and I made my appointment for 9am. Let me tell you -- it was NOT early enough! Granted, I had my hair and makeup done and it was a 40 minute drive back to my mom''s, and I got stopped by a cop on the way home for speeding (he let me off!

) but I was totally rushed when I got home and forgot to put on my tiara so half my pictures I''m not even wearing this expensive tiara I bought! I would say for a 3pm wedding book your appointment at 8am.

Around here the popular salons book early, so I would say book in January. Also check and see if there are graduations or proms that weekend, as many gals around here get their hair done for those events. The salon I went to only books one wedding a day, so you may not get your first choice unless you book early.
