So I have no idea what time I should be doing anything on the day of my wedding. My ceremony isn't until 6 pm and I'm not sure what time I should get my hair done, get my make up done, etc.

I made a hair appointment for 3 pm-do you think that's a good time or should I get it done even earlier? I figured it will take maybe 45 minutes to an hour to get my hair done so I'll be out of there by 4 pm. So when should I get my make up done? Right after my hair appointment?

And when should I get my nails done? The day before? Or just before my hair appointment? Ugh-I hate not knowing how all this stuff works!

What are you all planning on doing? I would love to hear everyone's timelines! Thank you in advance!

My wedding is at 6:30 and I''m getting my hair done at 10:00. That seems really early to me, but I need to be able to fit in makeup as well. My stylist promises that my hair style will last all day. We''re doing all of our photos before the wedding so I have to do everything early.

Are you doing pictures before? If so, I think 3 is too late, you will be rushing and you need to build yourself a cushion. I would say noon would be good or 1 depending on if you are doing pictures.

As for nails, get them done the day before, no need to worry about drying time or smearing.

Wow, thanks for the speedy responses, musincy and Blair!

Okay, so it sounds like 3 is definitely too late then! I think I''ll try to get my hair done at noon or 1. I don''t want to be panicked and rushing around. And I''ll just do my nails and toenails the day before.

What about make up? What are you all doing?

My sis is doing my makeup and she will be doing it after hair. I think that should be good for you too. If you get hair done at 1 then makeup would be 2:15 or 2:30ish. You can always retouch-who is doing yours? Are you getting it done?

Also, are you getting a trial before the big day? This will help you figure out how long it will take to do your hair and makeup.

I''m trying to push back makeup as late as possible, which for me will probably be 1 or 1:30. I''m going to the MAC store at my local mall and they said it would take ~40 minutes.

My timing may be irrevelant to you, as my artist is coming to my room to do our hair and makeup (4 of us). She will be bringing an assistant. I need to tell her what time we are to be ready and she will work backwards to get a start time.

We want to be ready at 1pm for pics, so she will likely start at around 9ish.

It depends. Is your hair/makeup artist coming to you or are you going there, and will your bridesmaids also be getting their hair/makeup done by the same person? Also, are you taking pre-ceremony pictures?

My wedding is at 6:00 as well, and I am getting my hair done at 2. The get ready time at the venue starts at 4..so I'll get lunch, get my hair done, then go over to the venue and get dressed.

ETA: And we're doing our photos from around 4:45-5:15 or so. That's the plan anyway.

My wedding was at 3:30pm, and my hairdresser and makeup artist came to my house at 10am. You need to allow at least 4 hours I think, for touchups, photos etc. 5 hours was enough for us to get 4 bridesmaids, myself and my mum done (hair and makeup), have a few drinks and a relax, and have the photographer take some snaps, then we left at 3pm for the church.

I had my fingernails done 3 or 4 days before so there was time to fix them if I damaged them before they were set properly. Plus I needed to get used to acrylic nails, which I'd never had before!! Getting your toenails done the day before or early the day of would be fine, that wouldn't take long. Just give yourself plenty of time to relax on the day!

Your ceremony time is the same as ours was, so maybe my timeline will help! This is just from my memory, I don't think I have a written schedule anywhere.

09:30am - Wake and breakfast (except I actually woke up at 8, couldn't sleep any longer - big surprise!!

)

11:00am - Hair Appointment (mom and MOH had theirs at the same time)

12:30pm - Pick up lunch, drive back to venue

01:30pm - Eat lunch (ideally

didn't really happen), relax

02:30pm - Makeup (DIY)

03:30pm - Get dressed

04:00pm - Photographers arrive, start individual bride/groom pics

04:20pm - Bride & Groom pics

04:50pm - Group pictures

05:30pm - Hide for guests' arrival

06:00pm - Ceremony begins (actually ended up being 6:15... long story)

It looks like there's a lot of dead time in there, but still I wasn't ready when the photographers arrived! I felt really rushed.

As for nails, I bought nail polish specifically for the wedding (I don't really own any because I NEVER wear it), and totally forgot until the break between photos and the ceremony. I whipped some on really fast, don't think it smudged, which was a total lucky break!

Oops, thought I submitted this response but it was sitting open on my computer screen this morning!

I guess I''m going to get my make up done, probably at the MAC store or a MAC counter. I haven''t set it up yet, though! I need to get on it but I just don''t know how to find a good make up artist! No one else I know has gotten married recently so I have no way to get recommendations, unfortunately.

And I have a hair consultation scheduled-not a full trial I don''t think but just a consultation to see what I want, what my hair is like, etc.

musey, thank you for typing up the detailed time line! That is perfect! I know I will totally feel rushed and/or panicky the day of...that''s just what I do when I''m stressed! Eeek I''m starting to feel nervous for my wedding!

We''re doing pictures separate from each other before the wedding, and we''ll do pictures of us together during the cocktail hour. For some reason I really want to have the first time he sees me be when I''m walking down the aisle...I''m being oddly traditional about a few things for the wedding!

Don't be nervous! We ran behind, but who cares... in the end, all the important things happened around when they were supposed to. It's not a big-budget broadway musical opening with critics in the audience, it's a party

Musey, thanks for the schedule. It''s something that should be so simple to compile, but I was putting it off because I was intimidated.

I''d get your nails done the day before...bump hair up to 2p if possible, and schedule make immediately following....

Remember, you need a cushion incase your stylist is running late...3 would be cutting so so so close, I''m afraid.

You''re welcome

I like figuring out schedules. I''m weird.

I'd agree to do the nail the day before; I found that worked well for me.

My ceremony was for 3:45, and I had hair appt at 10:30. We had brekky prior to hair appt, then got hair done. Once we got back, we picked up flowers and went back to the hotel. I began makeup at 1:30; between make-up and getting dressed I was ready when the limo came at 3pm to pick us up. (We didn't do pics beforehand.)

Wow, so everyone does their hair super early! Who knew? Okay, so I''m going to try to switch my hair appointment to noon, 1 pm at the latest. I''m going to call my hair place tomorrow to get everything switched. And I''m going to make a mani/pedi appointment for Friday. Thanks again everyone!
