When would you say you are ''working'' at your best ability:

So I voted that I work best under pressure. I tend to get INCREDIBLY bored if I have a lot of time on my hands working on projects. Then I end up spending half my day on Pricescope because I don't know what else to do with myself! But it seems like once I'm loaded with stuff that was due pretty much......YESTERDAY then I actually work fast and hard to get everything done.

I don't know, I love my job to bits but I'm getting bored these days....

BTW, I'm so happy a POLL I created actually worked for me, for once! Yay!

I need pressure. Right now I''m waiting for my job project to start, hence, wasting time on the computer rather than organizing my storage room because there isn''t any pressure to complete that task. When I start my new job, it''ll be project based, so the more quickly it gets done, the more likely I''ll be hired for another project, so the pressure will be positive reinforcement.

Usually the more work that''s piled up with people waiting, the more stress, the more issues, the better I do.

I''m better under pressure, but my deadlines are really self-imposed, and I don''t think I would do well if I had a boss breathing down my neck or checking up on me. A bunch of whiny students complaining that they want their papers back, I can ignore and still work at my own pace, a boss would make me nervous to the point of not being able to focus.

I am a mess under pressure. I prefer having deadlines, but roomy ones- not the urgent THIS MUST BE DONE BY ____ OR WE''LL ALL GO DOWN kind.

I''m the exact same way. Need the pressure!!

haha i voted "work? who works?" mainly cause my work doesn''t feel like "work" and it doesn''t involve deadlines or projects of any sort... (i''m a massage therapist)

but i guess when i was in college i could not focus on any homework/projects/papers until the last possible second. I do my best "work" under pressure, when I''m forced to pace in circles and almost pull my hair out from frustration.

ahhh thank god i will never have to deal with that kind of pressure again - i have the least stressful job in the world!!

I need some pressure. I work best when I''m really excited about what I''m doing and when I can see the end in sight (ie, small projects not big looming ones).

I totally need deadlines/pressure. At my first job out of college, I was given pretty much no direction, and everything was "whenever you get to it." It was totally miserable. Before I realized that I could surf the internet at work (sadly, this took about 2 months for me to notice), I would be so bored that I'd make spreadsheets of the different kinds of coffee in the break room, and chart which ones got used the most.
