Where to buy loose gemstone?

I'm in the market for a .75 to one cart gem stone but I don't know who to trust, as far as local retailers go. Too scared to try eBay for this. It will go in a right hand ring, so it needs to be durable. I love rubies, sapphires, or any gemstones that look like them and moreso if they are less expensive. Can any of you refer me to a good website to purchase one? Would love suggestions as well!

Due to difference in specific gravity, CS tends to be discussed in dimensions rather than carat weight.

I think you might need to be flexible on size or shape at your price point.

Have you thought about how you are going to set it? If you get a stone which has non-standard dimensions then it wont fit a stock setting. So you will have to put aside money for a custom ring.

you will not find Fine colored blue Sapphires in the price range but you will be able to find some nice stones in other colours if you search on line.

Rogerio is a really nice person and very helpful. You could call/message him to see if he has something else not on his Etsy. I think a creative setting for it in your ring could work if you have a good bench.
