hi,

it's my first post here - thank you for having me. I am based in EU.
Do my sellers here like Ritani or Loose Grown Diamonds ship to EU or only within US?
also, is it worth it or with shipping risks am I better off trying to find a supplier in EU directly?

Thank you! :)

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, trev5577!
Yes, many sellers will ship to the EU.
Another option is to find some great diamonds to pick from at a site such as LooseGrownDiamond then check availability at EU-based sellers 77Diamonds and Novita that both pull from the same virtual inventory feeds...ask for a pre-VAT price match.
If you'd like some assistance looking for great diamonds, then we'd be happy to help you search!

wow, that's an amazing welcome :) thank you so much @DejaWiz !

I would love help indeed!
So I'm looking for a round lab grown diamond, anywhere between (roughly) 1.75 and 2 carats.
I'm looking for good quality so maybe E in color, IF, ideal cut.

My questions:
- I suppose E color is fine for the untrained eye, but I was wondering if most users of the forum would only go for D?
- The one thing that I know my wife likes are settings with diamond bands but I don't know if this will limit my choice or if it's not a good idea in general?

Based on what I have seen after a cursory search on ritali and LGD, it would fit my budget but there are a ton of options and it's hard not to get lost - I know there are other variables to look at, eg depth, table, crown angle but this is exactly where i'm getting overwhelmed!

So if you can make any recommendation, I would be eternally grateful ;)

D or E will look identical to the naked eye especially in lab material which doesn’t have inclusions or fluorescence that could moderate the appearance of color like it might in natural diamonds. Honestly with labs that are fairly uniformly DEF and VVS clarity I personally wouldn’t care about these two traditional characteristics (color and clarity) much. Far more important to focus on the quality of the material to ensure it has no undesirably blue or graining.

You can set a diamond in any setting. Better to buy diamond and setting in the same place since with the low cost of labs and the high cost of settings you may be paying more for the setting than the diamond!

No problem at all - what is your comfortable budget cap for just the diamond?
I already have several recommendations, so hopeful they are in your price range.

Dreamer_D brings up a very important point: clarity is usually a non-issue with LGDs as long as the diamond crystal quality is extremely high and doesn't contain weird hues, graining, clouding, or very large inclusions that may be visible to the unaided eyes (but that likely won't happen until SI1, may even SI2).

Examples of not worrying too much about clarity as long as the material is clean and the cut is great:

My wife's 1.69 E SI1

Her 2.76 D VS2

Thank you! This place rocks

How does one evaluate if there isn’t any blue or whether it’s grainy? Is it purely a visual assessment?

Wonderful
Around 5k +/- USD would be my cap for the main diamond

Also would the “side” diamonds need to have exactly the same characteristics as the main one? Or I would have some wiggle room.
Probably a n00b question…

More than ample budget for the diamond!
I'll start posting links.

There's some wiggle room - well cut melee diamonds that aren't cloudy will usually face-up very icy even up into the G-J color grades, to my eyes at least.

All prices are shown at LooseGrownDiamond, so be sure to price compare with other sellers that may have these exact same diamonds listed (and ask for price match, if needed).

$795

$808

$917

$1330

$1385

Visual, yes. Post the listing with a vendor here and experts can help. I am not one of them in that regard.

This. And also for larger sides like .20 and up if you buy a colorless center I would also desire colorless range side stones.

Ubderstood, thanks to you as well!

Another question: are there well known jewelers to do a good job for the setting in the EU that you may be aware of?

Maybe post this question in Rocky Talky so you get attention?

Unless you have a specific style in mind, I’d consider looking at the settings offered by the diamond vendor. You will get the diamond set for free if you purchase one of their settings. If you are going to the “hand made” route as opposed to “cast and hand finished” the setting alone is likely to cost more than the diamond.

Don't forget 77diamonds.com which is based in the UK. I don't know about their settings, but people have been pleased with their diamonds.

thank you guys, this is immensely helpful! what a community you have built here...:kiss2:

Hi @DejaWiz may I please ask for your help once more in providing a couple of links more specifically in the 1.75-1.85 area'ish from LGD? I showed my wife multiple examples of a 2 carat diamond vs 1.75 (on people's fingers, albeit only in photos) and she thinks she would rather go in the area around 1.75 carat.
I will then take it from here - I will be contacting 77diamonds for a price match and subsequently order a complete set.
Many thanks again!

Hello, trev5577!
Sure thing - I'll search and post some options for you to look at. Let me know when you're active on the forum so you have first dibs before lurkers can snatch them all up.

thank you @DejaWiz so it might be better to wait until tomorrow when the EU sellers are open so I can request a price match, what do you think?

That may be the wise route to take!
If you want to test if they have staff online now, see if you can start a chat with 77Diamonds and ask about the first two diamonds that I posted earlier, trev5577

Hopefully you saw the ninja edit to my last post, trev5577?

already chatting with them re the setting but they have to get back to me tomorrow when the team is back at work.
Haven't asked them about a price match yet, I can try though!

No worries - if their staff is gone for the night, then we can wait until it's tomorrow in the EU since it's approx 5:15-8:15PM there, depending on which time zone.
