Got engaged, and now the hard part.
Any ideas on where to go in November?
We live in Alberta Canada, and want to keep it fairly reasonable so that guests can come, and would like it either in the states or somewhere tropical. Somewhere WARM, cause as you know its pretty chilly here in November!!! lol.
Was thinking about Vegas and then head to Bora Bora from there, but I just cant seem to get past the ''cheese'' part of it.
Any ideas????

Hey Emmaa! Congrats on the big E!

I too am from Canadia, and my first instinct was "OMG Banff/Lake Louise!" Have you ruled out a ''winter'' wedding there and then jet off on a hot honeymoon with your new hubby?

The only reason I say this a) Albert is SO beautiful b) DW are actaully not as ''easy'' to plan as some people think.
I am having a DW in Italy, and beween the time/language barier (which wouldn''t be a prob for you) and the fact that most of my desisions are *blind*, (limited recos and mostly ''hear-say'') it has been extremely difficult to plan.

In fact (and not to totally burst your bubble) my other GF is also getting hitcher''ood this summer and was initially planning either a mexico or other ''all inclusive'' DW, but changed her mind becaue there were too many what ifs and uncertainties. She ended up picking a "local" venue, the Toronto Island where she grew up, and says how much happier she is with her decision.

I feel like a wet shirt saying all this, but its just based on my (our) experiences planning a ''small'' DW.

LAKE LOUISE!! OMG!!! :p

GL and absolutely I mean all this from a warm and fuzzy place!!

Honestly, I wouldn''t recommend a DW if you''re having guest beyond your very immediate family. They work better if you toss the planning into someone else''s lap and just show up for something fairly casual.

I don''t know about the weather up in Alberta, would it be snowy already? Snowy enough for a winter wedding? Those can be seriously cool. Where would your guests be coming from? How many do you want?

Florida and southern california are still pretty warm in November. ... Ok Florida is always at least ''pretty'' warm!

Well....while I second the opinions of the posters above about DWs...I LOVE San Diego and the best part about it is that it''s 70 degrees all year long! It would be a great place for a DW.

EEK! I went home last night feeling like a total jerk for being ''negative'' about the DW idea. SO sorry.
Ultimately, its your wedding, and you should make your dreams come true ;)

Don''t let us influence your desicion so early in the game. Get some quotes, prices, avails etc, and I am positive the ''right'' decision for you will become clear as day!

GL Emmaa!!
