I'm going to Brimfield in September and was thinking that I should probably invest in a decent loupe. Any advice on which one/where to get it?

ETA: I meant to put this in the Diamond Hangout forum, but I'm sure I'll get good answers here as well. Sorry!

I buy them for under $5 on ebay. They magnify and that is all I need. Some do come with a little LED light.

I bought a good one from Amazon that has both LED and UV lights. The UV is nice if you have a diamond with fluorescence.

Thank you all!! This is great information. I think I will end up with the Belomo 10x. I have tried a few cheap ones from eBay that I wasn't too happy with. Maybe I just don't know how to use it. Thanks again!

Thanks for the tip. I'm about to place my order!!

Just so you know, you won't be able to see girdle inscriptions with a 10x loupe. But a 10x loupe can be used for matching inclusions to the report, checking prongs, etc.

That's really helpful, Diamondseeker. Do you recommend 30x to see a girdle inscription?

Yes!, If you are old as I am...

DF - You're only as old as you feel!

Just an update - I purchased and received a Belomo triplet. I love it! Quality and optics are fantastic. Thanks everyone!
