So guys are just so not sneaky. About anything. SO decided to open his email in front of me over a week ago. I saw a listing on Craigslist, something along the lines of "Antique Engagement Ring wanted." He got all flustered. Closed the email and blamed it on me for being in the room (???). So a few days ago, he gets a response from a diamond vendor in our city who happens to work with several metalsmiths (is that the right word?) about possibly doing a custom piece.
So, he talks to me about it and now I think we''ve decided to go custom! He''s letting me be involved in the process as much as I would like (I''m very type-A AND I hate surprises) and I''m so excited. He originally didn''t want any online/custom type of piece, but seeing my love for antique cuts and the lack of availability from an average store, I think I won him over.
I have no idea how long this process is going to take. I''m in the process of getting quotes from vendors and trying to figure out exactly what I would want. But... it''s so exciting!!
Congrats on all the recent engagements!! Sorry I don''t make it around very often... Rotations are very hard and I''ve started working part time, leaving me little room to sleep or eat. Let alone actual have some free time. I hope everyone here is doing well!
