I've been looking at both of these bands. The price difference is significant! Am I missing something here?

Looking for a 5-stone platinum band 1ctw for my mom. Size 8. She wants something low profile and that won't get dirt or cookie dough stuck in the gaps haha. I'm leaning towards the Costco band... any reason that I shouldn't?

Thanks!

I would just make sure that the Costco one is GIA graded or at least make sure you’re happy with the cut and color by seeing it in person. It may be that the BN diamonds are not graded per GIA either - would be a good question to ask. Some of the price difference will be because it’s Costco, but I would expect there is a difference in the diamond grade as well. At .20 carat for each diamond, it may not matter that much but color could show.

Most 20 pointers are not going to be GIA graded. I would compare both prices to other vendors that you know of with quality you trust, and see where their pricing is. It might help you decide what you should be paying.

It does look like Costco only goes as large as size 7, so you'd have to be sure it can be sized up, and will need to pay a local bench to do it...

I bought a few pieces of diamond jewelry at Costco..If you look on Blue Nile or other vendors..the ready mades will sometimes be I1’s and I color..at least I see that in stud earrings..They don’t mention cut but I’m not thinking the cut wouldn’t be too great. At least with the Costco band you are getting at least a VS2 and I color. The cut would be probably the same. What I like about Costco for small jewelry is if a stone falls out or you decide you don’t like it you can return it practically any time...just make sure you save your receipt. I bought my dangle diamond halo earrings from Costco and I get compliments from jewelers when I wear them and I’m in for something else. They weren’t cheap but much cheaper than if I ordered the ready mades from someone else. At least I could return them easily if they weren’t up to par. I pick the Costco ring..

Go with the WF if it is in your budget. The stones will be really nice.

The other option is to get a quote from IDJ with pricescope quality stones.

If it affects your decision, please note that sizing the ring will void your return privileges and any warranty at Costco. Make sure you're happy BEFORE you have an outside vendor work on it. This is true of BN as well, but people tend to assume that the Costco's T&C are fabulous, which is generally true, but this is one of their exceptions.

That’s true! I only have the halo earrings and a pendant from them..but yes.anything altered wouldn’t be returnable! Good catch!

Personally I would go with the WF....cheaper than BN and only a bit more that Costco. Plus all ACAS. Honestly I am shocked (In a good way) at WF'S deal!
