Which Diamond Bracelet for a wedding gift???

In addition to helping financially with the wedding, my mother wants to give my Fiancee a piece of jewelry for a wedding gift. She has decided on a diamond bracelet, and she has a specific budget. After much shopping around, we were able to find two bracelets at a great price. She purchased both and will be keeping one of them. I'm just looking for some opinions on the style, which people like better, etc.

The first is a three-stone design, with gold links in between. It has 24 stones, totaling 3ct. Stones are H, SI1. 9 Grams of 14K white gold.

The second is a more traditional tennis bracelet. It has 51 stones, totaling 2ct, each set in a half-bezel. 14.5 grams of 14K white gold.

It's a tough decision because on the one hand, the three-stone design has fewer, but larger more substantial stones and may look more impressive, but the more traditional tennis bracelet is a much more classic designk and it is much heavier. What does everyone think??

That's a tough one because they are both beautiful! If I was the one lucky enough to recieve the bracelet, i would love the more traditional tennis style.

I vote for the traditional bracelet - it's a classic, and will go with everything. Good on your mom for being such a sweet mother-in-law to be, and you for being such a thoughtful fiance!

The three stone struck me... Some thing about the Past, Present and Future for you wedding day. I also like that it is a lttle unique.

It would be beautiful dressed up or down. I would easily wear it every day. Tell you Mom how wonderful she is for giving your girl such a thoughtful gift. :appl:

congrats

I'm with lovemybling on this one, the three-stone is strikingly beautiful.

I would prefer the traditional one for sure

I also perfer the tradition but both are gorgeous!

I prefer the tennis bracelet! Good job mom! :appl:

I'd prefer the more traditional bracelet.

the tennis bracelet is breathtaking. It gets my vote!

WOW - what a nice mom. You're very lucky.

Personally although I'm not a bracelet person if I did have to wear one I would preferthe traditional tennis braclet.

But both are very nice, and I think your girl would be thrilled to recieve either one. Which one do YOU think is more her style?

Indeed both bracelets are very beautiful but i'd definitely go for the traditional tennis bracelet  I believe that it will look sparklier on her wrist, regardless of the fact that the diamonds are smaller than the ones on the other one and it is an all time classic kind of piece that she will definitely love. It will impress everybody who sees it, i'm sure :appl: !
Your mom must be a very thoughtful and wonderful person!

natyLad, that's what makes it tough. From the jewelry she has, it's hard to tell so I would not be able to tell you which she'd prefer. I am sure though that since it's a gift, she will be thrilled to get either one so that makes things even harder!

Ajm i understand that you might not be completely sure what she would like the best but as you said, both of them are such elegant and expensive pieces that i can't imagine any girl feeling disappointed with either of them being offered to her as a gift!. I just expressed a preference on the tennis bracelet, because it is a style highly appreciated by most ladies and it is considered a basic and classic piece that every fine jewellery lover should have! It's like the...little black dress or the classic white shirt that every lady in the world likes to have in her wardrobe, if you know what i mean!!! ;))
Does your mom insist on presenting it to her as a surprise or would she consider asking her opinion on this? That would sure make the whole procedure easier and safer!

No help here, I like them both. If it was for me, I would choose the three-stone, just because it's a little different. But you can't go wrong with either choice.

My vote is for the traditional tennis bracelet! Has your mom considered letting your fiance choose?

Impossible to make a mistake on this one, either one of them would be a wonderful, thoughtful gift. Why don't you let your mother choose? That way it would be a very personal and welcoming gesture from her to her new DIL.

They are both really great! What a really sweet mom you have. I personally like the tennis bracelet. It looks to me like it would move more easily on the wrist/more comfortable (so I would be inclined to wear it more often) and seems to have more diamond coverage (as in the whole bracelet no matter the position sparkles, not ctw) which is just a plus. Honestly though, both are beautiful and you can't go wrong either way.

Thanks everyone. My mother and I have decided on the traditional bracelet, because it's just a classic design, and because the bracelet aside from the stones seems to be made much heavier and more robust. It's something she can wear over and over again and not have to worry. Thanks for everyone's opinions!

I'm chiming in late, but I'm really glad you made a decision. :appl: They are both lovely!

The pictures of the bracelets on your hairy arms are too funny!

I thought traditional because it may be easier for her to size if she wants it smaller. If so, she could make earrings out of the extra diamonds. ;))

haha yeah those pics are funny.......I was just trying to give some sense of scale. That's a good point about sizing, I didn't even think about that. I'm sure she'll love it!

What a lovely thing for your mother to do :appl:

The second one. I love it...how much is it? :appl:

Personally, I want the second one for myself!

I also like the second one for a new bride, because there are no prongs to catch and snag on clothing, or to scratch the children once they come...making it more wearable.
