Hi guys I’m looking to purchase an engagement ring and slowly learning a lot through this process!

Im considering these two diamonds , with the price difference being around 4k between these two (markup for designer name). Would appreciate any advice on the stones and whether you think it would be worth the price difference. Leaning more towards the first one at the moment

1. 1.05 carat F VS1 triple ex
No fluorescence
HCA score 1.3

2. 1.01 carat F VVS2 triple ex
No fluorescence
HCA 1

Both diamonds should fall into AGS ideal cut range as well

Thanks for any insight!

I like the proportions of the first one.

^ agreed about the proportions and angles being a little better for the first one

Got any pics or videos?

Except it was very likely cut by a cutter that has had a lot of issues with pavilion wonk.
Nice of them to use 55% stars so caution can be applied.
Agree on asking for images and video.

Wait sorry im very new to all these technical terms! Would you mind explaining what you meant by the cutter having issues with the pavilion? :O

I will ask the jeweller for more photos and update when i have them. It isnt from an online retailer

Thanks again for all your help!

There is a thread that is something like good numbers are not always right or something like that with details on extreme examples.
@DejaWiz @Kim N @tyty333 @flyingpig or other prosumers may be able to find it.
If not I will try and post some info tomorrow.

Beat me to it! Thanks for posting this, Kim N!
I miss seeing sledge around here. :(

Miss Sledge too. I loved that thread. I wish someone would explain the sweet line that @Serg discussed. So interesting!!
