I need a 7-cup food processor, and I''m considering the KitchenAid or the Cuisinart.

Anybody have one? Anybody have a preference? Compliments? Complaints?

My parents got the basic Cuisinart as a wedding present in 1967 and it is still the single kitchen appliance they use the most. They use it a LOT and it works as good now as the day they got it, and they swear by them. We''re going to register for one.

No opinions on Kitchen Aid, but I am very pro-Cuisinart in case you couldn''t guess!

My husband is the cook in the house & he says Cuisinart (we have an 11 cup Cuisinart). He said they invented food processors and have a better warranty. He uses ours all of the time and loves it. He also said that most professional chefs in professional kitchens use Cuisinart. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Sounds like Cuisinart, then, unless any passionate KitchenAid fans chime in before I buy.

I have a Cuisinart that is almost 20 years old. We got it for a wedding present and it works great!!!

Both make good products. I have Cuisinart everything (coffee pot, processor, blender) except for my stand mixer which is Kitchen Aid. My Cuisinart food processor/blender combo is great. It''s the best blender I''ve ever had. I also just bought a very small Cuisinart food processor/chopper because I''ve never had a bad experience wth the name.

We have the 11 cup Cuisinart and we love it! I got mine just before Christmas - they had a $20 rebate going on at the time (not much in comparison to the price, but every little bit helps!) so you might want to see if there are any going on. Our particular rebate expired 12/31/05 but they might have a different one now?

my parents have had the same cuisinart since they got married in ''72. we got one for our wedding and we love it. we also have a red kitchenaid stand mixer, which is awesome if you bake. i highly recommend both appliances!

I know I am way late ... but I wanted to chime in. I''ve been looking for a food processor and have done a boat load of research (because I''m anal like that about virtually every purchase I make, not just diamonds) :) Almost everything I''ve read suggests that the KitchenAid models edge out Cuisinart.

That being said, they are so close you''ll probably do well either way you go.

I feel like everyone I know who has either of them has owned it for about thirty years. That doesn''t leave them much chance to compare the original to any replacements that they''ve gotten!

I''m sure that either would be a great choice.
