Hi Folks!

Next year I will be focusing my energy back into greens. Gotta save $$ first but that's beside the point!
So the wishlist is a jade cab and either a green tourmaline or tsavorite.

My question is between the green tourmaline and tsavorite which is more durable? Which is more likely to be less scratched, dinted, chipped in a ring?

Just something I need to know so I can keep an eye out. I have read up on their moh ratings but I find that hearing from others is much more reliable as you guys actually wear this stuff on a daily basis.

I think tourmaline is less durable than tsavorite.

Even though my tsavorite is set in a pendant and I plan to set my green tourmaline in a ring. Something tells me that a tsavorite would be more durable as a ring. I’m actually going to set my spinels and chrysoberyl first because of this.

haha I feel like a twit for even asking since I've set two zircons but ah well! Got to try at least!

Tsavorite is more durable.
That being said, I wear a large Afghan tourmaline by Gene and it still is in pristine condition. I do not wear the ring on a daily basis and I am getting more careful with my hands than I used to be.
