Hi :)

I'm hesitating between two pendants at similar price point and style (I could afford a bit more, but I would rather not as I have other expenses, but I really want to gift her something now, to celebrate a little something!)

Could you please tell me your opinions ? Any advice welcome :)

I am thinking maybe the first because something with a marine vibe would be awesome, but I'm not sure the idea behind the design really shows ? And I feel like the second is more classic maybe ?
I would like it to be the most wearable for dressy occasions, as she never gifts herself that kind of thing !

(I am limiting to UK brands because of import taxes with Brexit !!)

Thank you :)

I think they're both classic and both beautiful! My vote would be for the first one just because it's a little bit bigger, both the pearl and the overall pendant size. But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I also like the first choice. I think it does look a little dressier and unique.

I agree the size difference would be a good thing to factor in :).
I just want her to have something pretty :), she never buys stuff for herself !!

I'm going for these more classic looks because I would like her to get the most wear out of it, and I know she would enjoy pearls, and diamonds are, well, diamonds :kiss2: (I can't afford to buy too much :) ; when I hopefully have a bit more funds I hope to get her diamond studs :), probably Blue Nile - will hopefully be back for this some day !! )

I do like both but now changing my vote to the second option because I think of a "classic" with the round pearl. I went through a pearl stage and would prefer an Akoya pearl.

Thank you ! Is there a color / overall quality difference ?

I prefer the second pendant for two reasons. First the pearl is an akoya which is a cultured salt water pearl. The first pendant is a freshwater pearl and not expensive. Second, I like the bigger diamond as the diamond pave on the first is tiny. Go for #2. Also if you post this on the pearl forum you will see that the posters there are super knowledgeable and may recommend pieces that are far less expensive but better quality.

I prefer the first necklace by a mile as I think the clam shell bail is so pretty and I prefer a teardrop shape if I were to wear a single pearl.

But yes, I would consult the pearl forum if they know of any better deals in your area.

Neither pendant comes with a chain so please make sure you’re comparing like with like when you research! In general terms, older women can cope with larger pearls so I’d definitely choose the first one. Take a look at Pearl Source too, they have some nice things, you can specify size and quality of the pearls, and they have 10% off right now.

Given the two choices, I would opt for the first one, as a 6.5mm pearl is tiny!

DK :))

I feel like option 2 is more of an everyday wear style, and option 1 is a dressy/special occasion pendant. I love them both though, so it’s really dependent on whether you’re going for a gift for special occasions or every day wear. =)2
