Which photographer do you like more?? With out any consideration of their pricing?

Assuming it''s for your wedding, I greatly prefer Agnes. I really like Jason''s artistic photography, but his "person" photography looks much more forced than Agnes''s.

Absolutely Agnes. She seems like she''s capturing moments when you look at the couples in her photos, while Jason seems like he studied a book of "shots to take at a wedding". IMHO he doesn''t consider angles and body shapes in his pictures, and a lot of the kissing pictures look like bad romance novel colours and not like intimate, romantic moments. I like that Agnes does comp cards and headshots, I feel like it shows up in her wedding work in understanding how bodies and people look on camera and how to bring out personality in her photos.

But then...I''m a complete photo snob.

If I were you, I'd ask to see a full edited wedding. Anyone can take ~50 good shots of many, many weddings, but a full wedding shows just what a photographer can do.

But going off the sample shots alone, I love what Jason does with scenery (as well as his use of different lenses), so I voted for him.

I really like both photographer''s work. I chose Agnes though because I think I like her style a little more.

I like both, and I think for me I would need to meet them in person and take their personalities into consideration. My feeling is that if I don''t feel comfortable with the person, how on earth is he/she going to get beautiful, natural photos of me?

I can see why you are having such a difficult time deciding. As others have mentioned Anges has a great style for capturing people, however, I do enjoy Jason''s artistic flair. Jason''s strength is more in capturing the finer details of the event (e.g., scenery, food, etc.), while Agnes seems to have a great appreciation for the human form. I bet you wish you could hire them as a team!

Really though, it will help to meet with each and view more of their work.

okay, i must come clean!!

thank you for all your opinions!!
the situation is as follows:
i have already booked agnes! we are from florida and are getting married in florida but just recently moved to los angeles. before we left i really wanted to make sure my photographer was booked so i could be sure to meet with them before booking - it was not something i wanted to plan from a distance. photography is probably our number one priority. we looked at website after website for weeks - months really! and talked to a LOT of different people from all over the state. we finally settled on agnes. there were 2 photographers we liked a little more, but they we just too expensive! we met with her, thought she was great, loved her pictures etc, etc.

that was over a month ago.
two nights ago i was reading a local message board on the knot and saw someone raving about their photographer and bunch of other girls chimed in that had worked with him also - all said great things. i went to his site to look at his pictures just for fun and really liked them a lot. i don''t like them more than agnes''s, but i do think they are really great.

then, i saw his pricing?!?! he is literally thousands of dollars cheaper! THOUSANDS!! i know i like agnes more, but do i really like her THAT much more?!?! probably not.

so i''ve spent the past few days really upset with myself! why had i never heard of him?!?! grrrrrrrrrrrr.
i just wanted to hear others opinions on the two without having all the messy details to get in the way.

we have already signed a contract with agnes and i just don''t feel right breaking it. even though im SURE she could rebook the date - our wedding is over a year away. plus, what if she refused to let us out of the contract? then we would have a photographer that knew we had tried to "fire" her! eeeek! just not a good situation.

anyways, thanks for all your opinions. i am finding peace with the situation. im trying to think of it this way:
i like agnes more. period. if i had found jason''s site before booking her i never would have "let" myself have her! so, i get to have a photographer i LOVE. and i''m sure i wont be missing the money (albeit a LOT of money) 10 years down the road. although right now, i am missing it a LOT. ...sigh...

do other people second guess their choices??? actually, im going to start a new thread for this... i bet i can find some other indecisive ladies!

I would absolutely book Agnes if I could... absolutely amazing photos/art! Just beautiful!

I did the same thing - spent tons of time searching for a photographer and waffled about paying so much. However, I finally went with my favorite and I''m feeling really good about it. I think Jason is good and his price is fantastic but I like Agnes better. I think you''ll be happy!

I second guessed myself a few times, but not on the photographer, on the reception venue. We are having it in a private room in a restaurant. But it''s not a fancy restaurant - it''s like a rib place. I love their food and we can get the room for free, and not a lot of fine restaurants are open for a sunday lunch, so this is what we chose (plus I can decorate the room really nice, and it has a fireplace!). But when I tell people where it''s going to be I get these "looks". That''s when I second guess myself. But so far i''m still on track with my first choice.
