Hello,

I'm looking for a ruby ring. There are two to choose from. I can not decide. How would you decide?

Thank you ☺️IMG_7998.pngIMG_7970.png

Both are no certified.
First photo: diamonds 3 cts (H/IF), Natural ruby but no more informations
Photo 2: Diamonds 1.5 ct, natural ruby but no information, too

I know nothing about rubies except I'd love to own one, but I like the glow of the smaller stone.

If I'm deciding purely on how the pieces look in these photos (naturally, there is much more to it than that), I like the second one better. Good luck!

All legitimate sellers understand it is critical to have a reputable lab certify any ruby of reasonably good quality.

If they are reluctant to do so, there is a reason...and it's nothing that you would want to get involved with.

The only exception is when when you are looking at very inexpensive stones and the seller openly discloses glass-filling, beryllium treatment, etc.

With that in mind, I greatly prefer the second one.

I would definitely request certification and any seller should be willing to do so - and don't let them tell you it cannot be done while in the setting. It's simply not true. Labs certify set stones all the time. They just offer an estimated weight rather than an exact weight.

I will also say neither. I feel like they are fake because they seem a little too pure from the picture, and personally, I like smaller rubies
