Which setting is better?

Hi I am trying to pick an engagement ring setting off James Allen for my upgrade and at between these 2
Option 1: https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...-prong-set-diamond-engagement-ring-item-53308
Only issue with that one is I have to submit a customization request to do 6 prongs, not sure what the additional cost will be and I am trying to order asap.
Option 2: https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...d-with-a-six-prong-signature-head-item-118327
This one I can order right away and change the prongs to be in the direction I want(with top prong at the top). I just wish there were users reviews with pictures for this one. For example alot of the micro pave ones on there I looked at I really disliked in the pictures the way they looked almost metaly and not sparkly like a diamond.

This is my wedding band and I am hoping they would somewhat go together. https://www.bluenile.com/wedding-rings/luna-diamond-ring-white-gold_44543

If you read this much thank you so much. Really am not gonna be able to convince my husband to let me do this again ( and don’t want to) so I want it to be perfect.

I think you're going to have to define "better".

I can tell you what I like and possible concerns.

I prefer the second one. It just looks a lot more cohesive to me. Unfortunately, at 1.9mm it seems a bit thin.

I wish the stones on the first one went down the band a little more (like maybe 2 more stones per side). I think you should
get a price quote on your changes so you know if its cost prohibitive (not sure what your budget is but the cost
increase could make the decision for you).

You will need a separator ring between either of these engagement rings and your wedding band so the girdles
of the stones don't eat into each other.

Thanks you so much for responding to me. I feel so clueless. I had no idea about the seperator band. What do they look like? Is this the case with every setting or just the ones I selected?

Would this one require a spacer too? It’s a bit more than I wanted to spend plus 150 extra for the 6 prong modification

I also much prefer the second setting you linked in the original post. And yes, you would need a spacer band. You can look up pics of thin spacer bands, but most people aren't bothered by them at all.

Thanks for responding! Making me feel more confident about the second one. Just wish the reviews had more pictures. Wow. I currently have a plain white gold engagement ring band and the bluenile wedding band. Should I have been wearing one all this time?

Most people wear spacer bands when both their engagement ring shank and wedding band have diamonds that might rub together. Or if you have a wedding band where the diamonds go "past" the band itself and are at risk of "eating away" at the metal of the engagement ring shank. Does that make sense? Sorry, its hard to explain

Here’s what it can do to metal over time.

by putting a spacer in between (can be super thin ~1 mm) the stones on the wedding band won’t eat at the engagement ring and vice versa. You may have to invest in another spacer years down the line, but those are really cheap compared to an e-ring or diamond band.
