Looking for opinions! Which size stud for my second piercing do you like better?

First stud is 1.01. For second hole, deciding between either a .25 (.50 ctw) or slightly smaller at .17 ct (.33 ctw).

Thanks in advance!

I also like the smaller one better. The bigger diamond doesn’t leave much space around it for the second diamond. Your studs are beautiful!

hmm
i like the bigger one
and i have 3 piercing (and hope to one day get this configeration right)

Thanks all! I think I’m leaning toward the .33 as well … I think the .50 ctw may actually look better proportioned but the smaller size makes the 1.0 studs look bigger. It’s such a small difference in size but does change the look up!

Asscherhalo - I think there actually IS a third hole in my lobes but I won’t be looking for it

These second piercings are prob 20 years old… and I stopped wearing earrings in them 10 years ago. Recently tho I’ve started to like the look of two studs and wondered if they were still open. One side was totally open… the other side was mostly open but not 100%. I tried periodically to get an earring thru the last couple weeks and in the end had to push through a little cartilage the last 1/8 way through.

The smaller of the two does look better, to my eyes at least.

I had a second piercing done in January of this year and have 3mm studs that I think look great with my 1.84 cttw studs (6.2mm each). I don't think I'd go any bigger for the second piercing.

Smaller :)

Another one who prefers the smaller one.

I vote for the smaller one.

I prefer the larger one. I realize the spacing isn’t ideal but I think it is a better graduation in size.

I like the bigger one but I’m extra
How would you describe your style?

Thanks everyone super helpful!!

My style depends on what’s going on, casual to trendy. Daily tho I wear a Diamond watch, almost 5ct eternity right hand, ering and wedding band on left. The .33s look a bit small from a distance. When I looked in the mirror today I actually didn’t see the earring at first and thought I lost it! Lol thankfully it was there, just barely noticeable..

The .33s I got on black Friday sale - bony levy from nord rack to try them out. I know not the first place to really look for quality stones but I was nicely surprised - stones shine nicely no black carbon on loup and main reason was I like the setting - 4 prong martini. They cost me <$300 so figured didn’t have much to lose and the .25ctw ready set from whiteflash was smaller than I wanted and more $$.

Quality question - If I go up to .50 ctw (which after this mornings disappearing act I’m now leaning) I can return these .33 for the bony levy .50 tw still on sale for only about +$250 more ($550 total). or at that point just go with the white flash ready set .50 ctw 3 prong martini but it’s more..….not sure how much of a difference honestly in this size it makes if white flash is worth it? I guess it depends on what set I’m sent from Nord.

Here’s the .33 close up in 4 prong martini - you don’t see that often without custom and my larger studs are 4 prong to match (I’m weird like that lol). Here’s another of the .33 tw on ear at different angle.

I’m liking the larger one. I wear .80ctw in my first piercing and .60ctw. in my second. It’s a subtle graduation. I like that the smaller one can also be worn on it’s own when I feel like wearing one pair.

My vote is for the larger pair.

I like the larger one! Ya either go back or go home

So interesting to see and hear everyone's opinion. For what its worth, I prefer the smaller one but they are both beautiful!

I on the smaller side of the fence

The bigger is more appealing to my eye. I agree with @MissGotRocks on the graduation.

I like the larger, 50 ctw. The pairing seems more natural and meant-to-be-together to my eyes.

The smaller. I have three piercings and I put the smaller on both upper holes.

Thanks for the replies! To update … in the end I went with a .60 tcw pair and really like the sizing. I initially ordered .50 ctw ready set studs from WF .. while the stones were bright, they didn’t seem to sparkle that much for some reason, more of a twinkle - And I could detect some yellow so I returned them.

Instead I picked out two GIA .30 pt stones from JA to set into studs for the same price. Very happy with them and they are super sparkly! Hopefully this thread helps someone else trying to decide on 2nd hole sizing.

G SI1 and H SI2 - I can’t tell them apart color wise or see any inclusions without a loupe. They average about 4.28mm. First holes are 1ct each.

Well they look fantastic, separately and together ! Congratulations on finding a perfect pair for your second piercing. I had voted for the smaller pair in the initial post, but I think both sizes from that were in 4 prong settings, and these diamonds with the 3 prong one sit much closer to the ear, and this is my favorite of the photos you've shared.
